You mustn’t leave a container laying about at Duxford–otherwise it’ll win an Architectural award.
Safer to leave said container at Duxford, if it was at Cosford near the BA collection it would probably get cut up, specially if it had the slightest hint of red white or blue on it…….. Oh Becky put ya claws away, actually no I wont. BA just has no sense of humour or a sense of history LoL Bex
Cheers for the video John, very nice 😀 😀 😀 😀
So, my complete Vampire for £2750, or a bit of a Lightning for £3500. Both similar condition, i.e. need work.
Which is the best deal?
🙂
Bruce
Well given the choice Id have your Vampire Bruce, and the other thing with the stripped out Frightning is the extra cost of sourcing the missing items too. Ok you might have missing items too but at least you have the whole airframe. Bex
Cessna152, thanks for sharing your photos and you had great weather which makes a change for the North West……. Oh Im used to weather up there Im from Wigan orignally and not my fault im down here LoL Bex :diablo:
Great stuff! Many thanks 🙂
Must say, the Fokker-Harvards are very convincing at first glance!
I suppose the “ABTF” fighters just about do the job if you don’t look too carefully… 😉
In that case Daz, concentrate on the fake tanks & half tracks getting blown to bits LoL Just a thought though, anyone know if the BBMF aircraft have been used in films? Be a great way for them to get extra funding so that the tight fisted idiots in the MOD wouldnt complain (too much anyways) Bex
Don’t forget the T6 Thunderbolt that strafes the guys in Kellys Heroes (truly the best war film ever) – don’t remember seeing the T6 190’s and Thunderbolts in A Bridge Too Far, what scenes were those?
Rob, not sure about 190 scences but the Thunberbolt scenes off the top of my head are when 30 Corps start heading down the road and waqlk straight into an ambush, pop purple smoke and bobs ya uncle the german anti tank gunners get a major league headache. Bex

Thanks to Dave T to pointing this thread out to me, sorry Dave still getting the hang of the forum, great idea for the thread Rocketeer. And when 1. Ive got the software to reduce photos I’ll add some 2. When I find an old thread that LesB post my pics i’ll edit this. 3. try this for now: http://www.gatwick-aviation-museum.co.uk click on Canberra there I am. Bex
Ross’s PR9
Ross, she looks good any updates perhaps? I must admit having half a Cranberry & half a Phantom was a good chuckle to read and very handy to swap items or sell!! Bex
Ross, same thing with the PR7, seperate chaff / flares panel. This is a strange one. Is your PR9 a nose section or the whole aircraft? Bex
Jim excellent photos and as mentioned the sunsise shots with the condensation in the Forts cockpit & nose are incredible. And thanks for slowing them down!!! Oh, theres a silver single engined bird at about 2.30mins what was it? Bex
http://www.planepictures.net/netshow.php?id=51056
See if that works any better
As we’re on a bit of a musical point, to qoute a cracking song “Another one bites the dust” Bex
LesB’s photos
Les, your photos have opened another can worms, or I have LoL Looking closely at them, would I be correct in saying theyre also solid castings on the 8 & 9 like ive got the PR7? If thats the case then this “yoke” is definately not Cranberry. Bex
Bex, try Plastidip for the yoke. It’s a hard plastic coating which is almost identical to the original stuff. You need to dip (hence the name!) the item in it to get the best effect though. Dashed good stuff. I’ve used it on my Mosquito yoke and can send you piccie if you want to see what it looks like once applied?
See here – http://www.plastidip.co.uk/index2.cfm?page=products&prodId=9
Thanks for the tip Mark, though if I cant get the poxy thing off (Im having a teeny weeny bit of trouble removing bolts etc) then I would have to try my luck with the brush on stuff. Bex
thank you, added to shopping list LoL have fun dunking!! Bex
