I agree, having two children of my own I can not understand why their children where left unattended.

    Regards,
    John.

Hope u didnt think I was having a pop at u John, I qouteed you to emphasize my not wanting to get into a daft debate over who dunnit. What tickles me is how 2 supposed very intelligent people (doctors) and would have seen the results of such actions during their training could go out and leave the kids. I think we’ll just have to wait until the end of all this to find out.

You have a short memory…the “war on terror” you easily dismiss began 6 years ago. Go to youtube and you’ll see nicly dressed business people jumping to their deaths.

Yeah, the U.S. is just paranoid.

6 years 2 days ago, and Id say it was a pretty good reason for the USA to throw a wobbly. Bex

Is some country threating US now?…And yet they are showing their muscles so freaquently that its considered as their normal behaiviour.
Superpowers have this nasty habbit to try and control at least their local areas. Wheter its labeled as bufferzone thinking, securing national interest or even “fighting against terrorism” doesen’t matter in the end its just normal behaiviour of countries which sees themselves too important than they actually may be.

So ofcourse Russia has now started to make rather bold acts to show its recovering strenght, how else you would send the message? At this stage the actions are merely symbolics and more directed to the people of russia to show that the new leadership is tough and don’t crawl underneath the western powers. When recovering is in further stage, only then we will start to see really important acts were Russians will really start pushing their own interest in international matters. For example in the Kosovo case Russians are merely making noise but I doupt that at this point they would go all the way with the support for Serbia and eventually they will seddle for western-favour solution. But ten years from today and things will get bit more interesting:dev2:

Dishimising the power of Russia, like Lawrence is doing is just self-deception and will hit your own angle eventually.

Interesting post, however, I dont remember hearing any comments like these when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan or was suppressing Eastern Europe. Didnt the Soviet Union do things like this so often “yet they are showing their muscles so freaquently that its considered as their normal behaiviour.”

Its ironic that it took 9/11 for the politicians in the USA to realise that terrorists arent very nice people and after umpteen years finally withdrew funding for their Irish friends.

Dont forget, its not just the USA, UK or Russia thats doing daft things in this world today, and to be honest, a few Bears out having flying lessons or Comrade Putin tinkering with his Government are the least of our worries besides if he was daft enough to do something stupid Im pretty sure theres enough military might to point out the error of his ways (Dont include the UK coz we’re running out of troops 😮 ) Bex

The sea prince and meteor are indeed owned by a chap called Gordon. I met him at long marston this afternoon, and we had a chat about the aircraft, it seems, that as david has quite rightly said she was very close to being airworthy, the story is that gordon had restored her to the point where she was just about airworthy, waiting for the cross feed for the centre wing tank to be sorted. some rotten bu9ger, broke into the poor aircraft, and stripped every single instrument and piece of electrical equipment from her, thus rendering her completely, for want of a better word bug9ered. the reason for the inactivity, was due to a family tragedy, and he lost all motivation for working on the aircraft. it also seems that there are plans afoot to start working on the aircraft again and get them cleaned up :D:D:D so i promptly gave him my contact details, as i live locally. I really hope that this may be the beginning of a brighter future for these airframes 😀

Well that sounds promising Ben, especially in light of some other threads about the Long Marston collection, so lets see what happens. Bex

Good Ol’ Comrade Putin, I wondered how much longer it would take him to do something like this. His behaviour has been getting more & more “Soviet” but back to this might not be a good thing with him running the show. Mind you, atleast our Bean Counters in the MOD will have to think twice about cutting the RAF’s fuel bills :diablo: :diablo: Bex
