[QUOTE=Manonthefence]Wet film is dead (for airshow use anyway)QUOTE]

Only if you want a quick (instant) turn-around and instant review of your shots. The only professions that actually really need digital these days are press and sports photography.

Granted, the 1.5x lens mag factor of a digital setup is extremely beneficial to flying shots, but the smaller (than 35mm) sensor balances this plus. I admit that I’ve seen a billboard phot taken with the 5mp Olympus E-1 and it was nothing short of brilliant … but then again, the standard Olympus 4:3 Lenses are outstanding performers.

Hence (we are in agreement), spend money on glass, not on Mp.

I used to see the BBMF quite often over my house when they used to make regular visits/overnighters to RAF Northolt or the odd display over Bentley Priory.
Not any more, must be getting on for 10 years since an appearance at/or over Northolt.

Poor show for the RAF’s last operational 11 Group BofB station.

Can any of our resident BBMF guys explain why….??

Increasing restrictions on flying over built up areas perhaps..??

I have been to Northolt at least twice in my time at BBMF (7th season), and I’m sure we have been there other times as well. It all depends what shows/flypasts or events and where.

Sorry for delay in putting out details, however what with the weather this week and then trying to fit in with the E.Kirkbyites. Anyway the time of the visit will start at 18.00 on Wed 23rd March, we will email those coming with access details, so see you then.

OK thanks for all your replies, pure fluke that we organised it for same day as Just Jane firing up. More details of times and access arrangements next week after checking E.Kirkby’s timings.
