no blood puddle ??? that depends what filming you saw !! british was a bad angle and censored

it is clear it was huge injury observe at 1.27 !!

he had massive head injuries there is no escaping the fact here !!

also it is on gravel so it was also soaked up more

i’d say without a doubt he was dead before help arrived!!

senna did not die with a broken kneck !! the wheel impact is correct but it caused 3 large head traumas from suspension parts pennetrating his helmet/visor

( all were capable of killing on thier own but together it was a definate !! )

some controversey surrounds his medical treatment and law he recieved an emergency tracheottomy whilst waiting to be airlifted

it is said he was dead with no hope at the scene but the law of the country states if someone is killed at a sporting event the event has to be fully closed down

so it is believed he was kept technicaly alive till removed from the event !!

tyre pressure was ruled out as a cause as he had already done one lap at race speed

the cut and welded steering columb could have had a part to play as it is recconed it partialy collapsed

take from it what damon said ” i was in the same car and watched from behind on the lap before , senna was doing what he was famous for
he pushed his car just past the limmits once too often !! “

he said ” put simply senna did the unthinkable for him , he simply made a mistake !!” ( hed done a few others during his career )

another factor comes into it that he was very unhappy with a poor performing car ( the reason the steering columb was cut and welded ) but it was a catalogue of errors rather that one dirrect thing to point a finger at !!

i used to live not too far from the leyland plant at leyland

during the 70’s leyland built just the chassis engine and driving positions it was just a skeletal frame

from the factory they were driven under thier own steam to various coachbuilders around the country

many a time we would pass them on the motorway in our old hillman minx

looking at the poor driver battling a freezing winter rainstorm in a mac , goggles , scarf , and flat cap perched high up on a perilous fully open driving position

i always though that had to be one of the worst jobs ever all the crapness of a motorcycle without the bennefit of dodging through traffic jams

i presume they will come over on the ferries that go into fleetwood as it is a regular truck ferry and pretty central for them to be driven onwards !!

    Vettel to win 2011.

If I recall, Senna (IMO the best of all time) had a special shimmy he used to do with the steering wheel. It was for a specific reason, not a gimmick. Anyone know what he was doing?

more than likeley putting heat into the tyres to scuff them and make them softer

it would certainly wear them quicker but give the advantage of later breaking and faster cornering

but mainly his shimmying wasn’t a gimmic it was his mastery he constantly drove the car past its limits then recovered it

and that was where his speed came from he didn’t push a car close to its limit he was constantly on or just past its limits

He was also a ruthless, win at all costs type as was Shumacher (who in my mind has lost his edge). Which would account for him running his team mate off the track in the final race of the season which he had no need to win as he had already won the world championship. That is the most dangerously pointless thing I can think of and knocks him down a few places in my estimation of him as a racing driver. Senna and Schumacher were only (apparently) so good in the wet because they were too focussed on winning to drive a more sensible race

but that’s the whole point , racing is to win not be sensible and take second

that’s exactly why schumacher and senna are greats

not my favourites because of the tricks

but they had the winning mentality along with the skill

there is no such thing as non compettative sport

they get paid to win !!
