i have had a very simmilar accident happen to myself ( ridden and driven everything from a pushbike -an artic ! )

and feel most have ( without experience of truck driving ) put the blame wrongly on the truck driver

the instant the phrase ” he must have known the car was there !!” shows how ignorant people are of the vehicles around them

the simmilar accident i had was in ( believe it or not !! ) a lot smaller truck than that

the car that had tried to cut ignorantly in front of me was neither ” FELT or SEEN !” AT THE POINT IT WAS SIDEWAYS ACCROSS THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK

i was only aware of the vehicles presence once it was spat out and did a multi spin onto the grass verge

tractor unit trucks by their very design are machines that do not blink at hauling over 100 tons in some instances so less than a half ton of family hatchback on a slippery damp road would probably feel like the road had a slight incline ( the ammount of power would be negligible to keep it going )

used to drive them regular and believe me if a family tiny hatchback gets too close in 8 times out of ten it is probably not seen

it is no wonder truck drivers get annoyed with car drivers that have no knowledge and show blatant disregard of safety around these vehicles

i personaly feel every car driver should spend a week in a truck cab to apreciate just how dangerous these vehicles are

in all the reports i have seen on T.V. not one has said it was probably soley the car drivers fault for trying to be clever and throw a matchbox in front of a train !!

just thinking aloud, but i do wonder “why” do they shred the airframes now ??. is it to do with speeding the process along, or more to do with insurance,HSE, or some other beaurocratic claus ???

Ie, if someone in general, was looking for a single seat, say Jaguar, or simaller, Artist, cockpit restorer, museum, for what ever reason, who would they approach to enquire , before the item was shredded, ?? to aquire such a item.. or does current Law ,Policy, Protocol, forbid this ??

a lot of airframes have to be shreaded as part of east west arms limmitation deals , so they can no longer be of use

it has to usualy be done in full view of millitary satelites ( outdoors ) hence being able to view them being cut up at the huge B52 boneyards in the U.S. on google earth

would probably make it easier for them to collect as it was probably in lots of little bits rather than one huge lump

there are a couple of F.3s’ that have made it to museums manchesters museum of science and industry has one in storage awaiting the planned expansion to the air and space hall being built

so i think there may be a possible breading pair saved !!

    What ‘position’ would that be?

    Moggy

like it or not she will always have royal connections , she is mother to two princesses ( or do they escape the facts !! ) and is still living in the same pallace as andrew ( it isn’t a semmi or terraced )

she still has large responsibillities just because she is divorced does not mean she can shun them !!

if you are big enough to take on the huge responsibillities of royal duty marry into it

if you are a money grabbing hag and buffoon that only sees the privilliges stop away !!

forgive if you have seen before but my favourites are the genuine pilot/air traffic control messages

there are lots more but here’s a selection !!

The controller working a busy pattern told the 727 on downwind to make a three-sixty–do a complete circle, a move normally used to provide spacing between aircraft.
The pilot of the 727 complained, “Don’t you know it costs us two thousand dollars to make even a one-eighty in this airplane?”
Without missing a beat the controller replied, “Roger, give me four thousand dollars’ worth.”

A DC-10 had an exceedingly long rollout after landing with his approach speed a little high.
San Jose Tower: “American 751 heavy, turn right at the end of the runway, if able. If not able, take the
Guadalupe exit off Highway 101 and make a right at the light to return to the airport.”

Unknown aircraft: “I’m f…ing bored!” Air Traffic Control: “Last aircraft transmitting, identify yourself immediately!”
Unknown aircraft: “I said I was f…ing bored, not f…ing stupid!”

Tower: “Eastern 702, cleared for takeoff, contact Departure on 124.7.”
Eastern 702: “Tower, Eastern 702 switching to Departure. By the way, after we lifted off we saw some kind of dead animal on the far end of the runway.”
Tower: “Continental 635, cleared for takeoff, contact Departure on 124.7. Did you copy that report from Eastern?”
Continental 635: “Continental 635, cleared for takeoff, roger; and yes, we copied Eastern and we’ve already notified our caterers.”

The German air controllers at Frankfurt Airport are a short-tempered lot. They not only expect one to know one’s gate parking location, but how to get there without any assistance from them. So it was with some
amusement that we (a Pan Am 747) listened to the following exchange between Frankfurt ground control and a British Airways 747, call sign “Speedbird 206”:
Speedbird 206: “Top of the morning, Frankfurt, Speedbird 206 clear of the active runway.”
Ground: “Guten Morgen. You vill taxi to your gate.”
The big British Airways 747 pulled onto the main taxiway and slowed to a stop.
Ground: “Speedbird, do you not know where you are going?”
Speedbird 206: “Stand by a moment, Ground, I’m looking up our gate location now.”
Ground (with arrogant impatience): “Speedbird 206, haff you never flown to Frankfurt before?”
Speedbird 206 (coolly): Yes, I have, actually, in 1944. In another type of Boeing, but just to drop something off. I didn’t stop.”

whichever way you look at it , it is still a person with royal connections behaving seedily ..

a hotel room , money changing hands , treachery etc etc

her daughters are granted ( a long way down ) but never the less still in line for the throne

course normal people will take money if offered it !!

but she is meant to be far and above normal people !!

what she is entitled to and will have spent on her in one week most people will not make in a year

if she can’t manage the lucrative and excessively high privilliged position she has
throw her out on the street with what the masses have to live on for a year or two !!
