Keeping the state from Tyranny is the reason. It’s worth it. Our Founding Fathers in the US, based on their, and their parents experience in Europe, believed it to be so fundamental that it was codified in our Bill of Rights.

    Ryan

so you reccon you can bring down a fast passing mig with a shotgun or pistol

99% is won in the air with troops merely cleaning up on the ground

millitants against millitary forces make scant diffrences you may hold em off for a very short while

but only till an airstrike or armour turned up ( you are then toast !! )

there seems to be two sides to this there are illegal firearms ( i have seen them during my duties patrolling the streets !!

usualy these are used but mainly against other crimminals or drug related if used in robberies they are very rarely used to kill mainly used as a threat !!

then there is the legal owned firearms side dunblane , hungerford , cumbria , the millionaire that killed all his family because he was going bust !!

multiple murder shootings in the uk have nearly if not always been legaly owned weapons used by the legal owners , fact !!

the fact you have a person who is fascinated by shooting things then allow them to have a gun beggars belief

personaly speaking i saw enough of firearms and what they can do in their rightful place ( the millitary )

they are not a welcome addition to a home in any civilised society

i have yet to find another practicle use for a gun other than killing !!

another overwhelming piece of evidence that it is a dangerous fixation is , i have known many legal firearms owners

few are happy with just owning one for enjoying target shooting ( most have an armoury !! )

Presenting those who would use the guns illegally (And there are far more killings by them than by the ‘spree’ shooters) with a nice target for burglary or armed robbery, where they know full well they can pick up a useful store of ammunition and guns.

    Moggy

and i suppose you also think no one would follow gun club members home as well !!

the security would be 100% keener at a clubs armoury !! !!

or maybe even an aircraft updating for google earth as google earth is photographed from aircraft ( not sattelites ) as sattelite rendition is too poor !!

terrible events , well reported though

but it adds weight to my thaughts that there is no place for firearms in a modern well balanced civillised culture

    wether legal or illegal !!

as said you cannot legislate if the owner will become sick ( at least in their correct surroundings ) millitary or police they are monnitored and have to be signed in and out and ammo is accounted for

a friend has several firearms ( all legal ) he doesn’t see a problem with it

but anyone even slightly sane can see someone with a fixation to have and collect various tools that the sole intention and design is to kill others

deffinately has an underlying social problem !!

if the sole intention is target shooting or clay pigeon shooting they should be correctly stored at those premmisses and only be available at those premmisses ( pre booked ) to stop spur of the moment actions like these

i’m sure some will argue tooth and nail about this

but after last week there are a few that would have loved to , but no longer can !!!
