    tornado.

Knife crime is a terrible thing but we rarely see stabbing sprees (have we ever?) on the scale of the Columbine, Hungerford, Dunblane or Utoye Island. Guns do make it easier to kill people. It is more distant, more clinical and less personal than twisting a knife in someone’s chest or slitting a throat.

the thing with knives is kev that you have to get intimate and there is a chance the victim will fight back

in that respect a gun is a cowards way that takes all intimacy of the up close and personal killing away

if it wasn’t for that factor there probably would be more knife killings

i think you’ll find i am !! i’m not the one still playing at cowboys and indians or soldiers !!

an intresting thing to ask at this point would be out of a certain percentage with a gun hobby

how many were actualy in the millitary ??

and how many were actualy made more intrested or less

but then i was trained on a javelin missile system wich makes guns exceptionaly boring after !!

@ S.H.!! quite agree as i said earlier there’s a bigger percentage of good kids !!

i treat them as i’d like to be treated and am polite saying excuse me if i want to get past a group of them

i am mostly if not all the time responded to by them moving and appologising

i am also gifted with a long enough memmory to remember that i hung around in large groups of youths in the 70’s and early 80’s in my teens

and to be honest there were the bad ellements then or do some forget teds , mods & rockers ( afore mentioned usualy busy smashing each other up or brighton !! ) punks ,skin heads , acid house ravers etc etc

Respect is something to be earned, not something to handed out as of right.

While we bemoan the lack of respect for a person or for an institution, we should also ask ourselves what they have done to earn and/or to retain the respect of others.

quite correct !! how can you have government members that were all defrauding criticising other thieves

they should have all been dealt with correctly and sentenced accordingly

they sent a clear message out that it is ok to be a thief and keep your job

in general it is unfair to blame one section of society as i know council estates with superbly behaved kids just as much as there are well off private estates with kids that are gob****es !!

but there is a certain pocket of society that thinks it is thier god given to behave however they want

letting them do it for many years is where the problem lies !!
