German specific issue? Lack of funding leading to gaps in maintenance perhaps?

Mercurius, I make the point because the F35 is going to be very capable, but for some years to come will still be optimised for US weaponry and so for the UK, stealth is not an option unless they only carry AMRAAM.

What is the UK timescale for Meteor being deployed on frontline F35s and when will they be able to carry ASRAAM internally?

Well you are primarily talking about current F16 operators, and the F35 is better than the F16. For the rest, Typhoon was developed for that role and so takes a significant share of the burden.

Its been so long since Dassault produced a manned fighter image that wasn’t Rafale. I await the new programme concept art with baited breath- because it’s gonna be a long while before this thing is a reality.

Fair point. But if you take average point of 80s F22 and naughties F35, thats still 90s
