I live almost next door to London Gatwick and there has been G.A going over all day. Obviously making the most if it.

Hey, all things come to an end, if it wasn’t you breaking them up it would be someone else. Can’t see the point in giving you flak for it myself.
It is a shame when you see pics of planes in a “graveyard”. I always wonder what they might have seen (if they had eyes and were of course alive). Its just cool the places they go. But, like I say, all good things must come to an end sooner or later. Keep posting the links please and have a great weekend!

Ahhh Its good to see that the romance of flying isn’t dead.

On a serious note, It drives me up the wall when some inconsiderate oaf, usually with a loud voice and no knowledge that there are other people aboard, barges their way down the aisle with a stroll along suitcase the size of Manhattan only then to complain that the overhead bin isn’t big enough. I mean, are these people for real?

I think perhaps a quick call to BMI might be the fastest way to find out.

I would love to do that. I used to spend a lot of time back and forth to The States and would try to get different routings when possible.
If I had the money and time…and my wife was as understanding as Lee’s is I would do it again.
The one thing I always missed though was someone to share it with, so if I did do it again, I would take Mrs Flyingspark with me.

    Love it!

Great report, makes me wish I had done it myself. Thanks for sharing.

    Here’s my pennys worth…

I can see both sides of the coin here. Whilst we post photos on the web for all to view, it would have been nice if the company in question had asked first.

If it were me, I would be rather proud that an image of mine was considered good enough to be used as advertising. I would however, as stated above, expect to be asked for permission…..common courtesy I think.

I hope you reach a satisfactory outcome.

This is just turning into a snow ball effect in airport security. Once this is done they will look for something else, maybe a machine that dismantles you and puts you back together again.
When all we really need is a machine that detects the low life terrorist scumbags and vapourises them. Come on Rapiscan and friends, how hard can it be?:diablo:

Well I think body scanners are an unnecessary step.
People who are worried about sitting next to bombers or paedophiles should stay away from aviation & stop imposing ridiculous rules & procedures on those of us prepared to take the risk

Are you for real? Perhaps you might want to take the risk but how about the crew and passengers around you.
Have you ever stood next to someone who was smoking? My guess is that you had more chance of ever doing harm to yourself by inhaling the toxins etc than going through a body scanner.
I would bet that those “willing to take the risk” would be thinking differently whilst kissing their ass goodbye at 30,000 feet.

    Brilliant shots, wow.

Serious question please: To get shots this good, how many do you discard on average?

    Thanks for sharing them,

    Thanks Scouse,

I was beginning to wonder if there was any life out there!
I will certainly get the book. I have since bought another one entitled “Focal Digital Camera Guides: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi / 450D”.
I am only just into it to be honest but it seems to cover the basics plus a layer or two further to tempt you away from the full auto setting.

    Thanks again for your reply,

    Best regards,

    Clive.

    Hi Kev,

I too bought a Canon 450D at the end of December. I loive the camera and the images it produces. How are you getting on? Have you brought any helpfull books or found a good magazine to help you.
I would be very interested in any updates you may have.
As a side note, if anyone else has a suggestion for a good magazine that will not confuse or be too heavy reading please let me know.

    Thanks

    Clive.
