Aren’t the Blue Steel guys down under keen to acquire a tin triangle?
Thanks Rob – would love to see this (esp the sea hawk!) but can’t find it on your site!?
Cheers,
Roy.
I’ll be posting the usual photo review on the Cockpit Club website tonight. I started to do it last night but was too knackered to finish it!
Thanks Mark – as always!
Roy.
I can just see it now, the RED Bull Vulcan!!
I for one wouldn’t care if it was a Red Bull/MacDonalds/GAP/Tampax Vulcan – if it flew.
I have memories of seeing vulcans when I was a kid, and even back then I was slack jawed with awe. Probably the most wonderful aircraft I’ve ever seen fly. Lightning comes a close second though 😀
Roy.
The Cockpit Fest makes me sick – because I missed it!
I had Bill Turnbull on the phone for over an hour this morning telling me how much he enjoyed himself, how the found both the exhibits and other cockpiteers absolutely wonderful. He had a fantastic time.
I for one would love to see more pics if some kind soul would oblige? How about a full report eh? Who won what?
And Stuart – hats off to you mate – amazing project that Spitfire. I wish I had your skill and determination. I’m curious now to see how far you will take it!
Roy.
655 looks brand new. Hard to believe she has lived in the great outdoors all this time. What an amazing job the guys are doing there, I really have to take my hat off to them.
Roy.
How do I get drool out of my keyboard?
I think he stuck to his post, didn’t go off the rails and get enmeshed in the argument. That would have left the gate wide open for controversy.
Who’d have thought that a thread about barriers would have lasted so long!?
At least we all had firm opinions – nobody sat on the fence.
Roy.
Fly.Buy – I’ll be updating the site (at last) on monday morning with pics from this weekend. The cockpit interior is really getting there, I’ve been amazed at how much stuff I’ve been able to find and even today – I got a nice lead on the last few parts needed.
Exterior – the first paint goes on tomorrow, spent this evening de-dusting the place ready for the wunnerful haze of 2-pack paint.
Remember, that unlike most cockpits, ‘838 suffered a serious crash and then many years of abuse. She looks a heckuva lot better now than she did a few years ago but she’ll never be perfect.
Didn’t realise it was you I bought the panel from! Never dreamed I’d find one but several have come my way over the last few years. I’m still grateful though!
I hope the pictures will have been worth the wait… watch this space!
Roy.
Rivet – will PM you about your offer.
Many thanks,
Roy.
A few volunteers with cattle-prods would surely most effective.
And yes, I’d love to be a volunteer 🙂
Personally, I prefer my aircraft to look a little tatty and used. Those super glossy, mirror finish jobs never look quite right to me.
Roy.
Surely you’re not suggesting that corruption, greed and politics won over national pride and a logical and rational choice of aircraft?
The standard answer Mike, is one of a distrust of all men since for years we’ve been telling them that —> <— is 6″
I’ll get a telling off from Moggy now for lowering the tone!
