An-70 and An-74. That gets my vote for a Hi-Low mix!
“It’s about opening your mind and thinking about what you would like to see in your navy”
The problem is my navy and the navies of most developed countries around the world would not spend money on upgrading an old decom. ship when it would be cheaper to build or buy a new ship. Only less developed countries that do not have access to new technology or money to spend on new ships would take old hulls and upgrade them with their systems. I hope you like this idea better than my last.
If Russia did gift their two decom. Moskva Class Helicopter Cruisers to North Korea I think North Korea would use one of the hulks for spares and the other hulk would be updated to this standard.
Amphibious Fire Support / Assault Ship.
*Displacement: 19,000 + tons
*Weapons: Two twin 170mm Koksan cannon mounts in the “A” and “B” position, Two 48-cell 240mm multiple rocket launch systems in the “C” Position, Four M-1990 4-barrel 30mm gatling gun mountings on each corner of the super structure, & Four M-1983 4-barrel 14.5mm AA heavy machine gun mountings.
*Aviation: Ten Mi-17 assault helicopters
This upgraded ship would be re-named Mount Paekdu after the birth place of Dear Leader Kim Jong-II. This ship would be tasked with amphibious Fire Support & helicopter assault. In time of war she would leave her base at Namp’o on the Yellow sea with her task force of transport, fire support, and assault craft. The invasion force would head south and land troops on South Korean territory. Mount Paekdu would provide shore bombardment with her multiple 170mm mounts and multiple rocket systems. She would also deploy her ten armed and fully equipped Mi-17s. These helicopters would deploy 300 of North Korea’s best Marines and then provide air support with unguided rockets and heavy machine guns.
“They were notoriously bad sea boats!”
Of course they were bad sea boats! Look who built them!
First you say;
“People in major countries Like America and England, you may choose to accept something from one of the other major powers, I’m sure no one would knock back an offer of a Kirov class vessel You must also rename the vessel and provide a base for it on your current basing list.”
Then you say;
“It’s about opening your mind and thinking about what you would like to see in your navy, now unless you live in North Korea, or Taiwan in the other thread, please don’t comment on another country!
I was opening my mind to what I would like to see in other navies!
I apologize if you think I am destroying your threads.
“Ok guys here’s the new twist, you’ve just been given a decommissioned vessel from a major power, it has been stripped of all weapons and electronics and the engines aren’t in a good condition either.”
Russia gifts their two Moskva Class Helicopter Cruisers to North Korea and they upgrade them to this standard:
*Displacement: 19,000 + tons
*Propulsion: Four high pressure steam boilers rated at 100,000 hp in total.
*Speed: 31 knots
*Weapons: One 170mm Koksan cannon, Six S-300F vertical launch SAM system (48 vertical launch missiles), Six 8-cell Klinock vertical launch SAM systems, Four Kashtan gun/missile CIWS, & Two 8-cell Uran SSM launchers.
*Aviation: Six Mi-24 helicopters & Six Mi-28 helicopters
Take that you capitalist pigs!
“No, Carl Gustav is an anti-tank weapon.”
I know. JA wrote; “2x Carl Gustav MANPADS.”
Carl Gustav is an anti-tank weapon like you point out but the RBS-70 is a MANPADS. I am assuming JA meant to write RBS-70 instead of Carl Gustav.
P.S. Are there six decom. Osprey class ships? I thought the Philippines were getting all the Ospreys that the USA was discarding.
“2x Carl Gustav MANPADS.”
???
Do you mean RBS-70??
Long Beach Class Missile Cruiser
*Displacement: 17,000 + tons
*Propulsion: Six LM2500 Gas Turbines
*Radar: SPY-1F
*Weapons: Three 64-cell Mk-41 launchers (128 SM-2, 128 ESSM, 16 Harpoon, 16 Tomahawk) & Two 21-cell RAM launchers.
*Aviation: Platform only
Then gift it to Taiwan. :diablo:
Does the Foch have the same Amount of asbestos as does the Clemenceau??
Foch
Does this mean that France has to take Foch back from Brazil???
It looks like a nase naval base too bad North Korea does not have any ships worth protecting. Anyone know what kind of Coastal Artillery North Korea uses? Maybe 170mm cannons??
No YF-23 pics?
“From Number1azn365 @ CDF:
New Sov 138, stop over at France.”
Did France surrender?? lol jk!
My girlfriend is sitting next to me in fridgid Minnesota and she says the best vacation place is Switzerland for the mountains and Mallorca, Spain for the beaches. I say Norway for the mountains and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for the beaches.
My girlfriend says the worst place she has ever visited would be Ghana Africa. I was not impressed with Iceland. I thought it was a very ugly country.

The USA does have a one year lease on the Swedish Gotland Class Submarine. That could be interesting news for Taiwan.
