If you were using the lens at the 300mm end, then 1/125 is way to low. The simple rule is that whatever the focal length of the lens is then the same for the shutter speed. 300mm = 1/300sec.
If you have a look at my photos from Legends See Here I was using a 70-400mm lens and most of those are at the 400mm end and my shutter speed was 1/400. I did drop it down at times to 1/320. It depends how much prop blur you want and how steady you can hold the camera as to the settings used.
Me, I’d rather get the aircraft in focus than have massive amounts of prop blur.
Brian
what lens was you using? As i’ll be looking for a lens for next year
Sony Alpha 580 with a Sony 70-400mm G SSM Lens attached.

The display line is far to far south, so that the aeroplanes are not much more than dots in the sky:
What Duxford?.
I take it your camera doesn’t have a zoom then?
I was down the M11 end and they are virtually flying over your head as they bank to turn over the motorway roundabout.

does anyone know if the flying bulls will be displaying together or will the corsair fly with the other corsair and the lightning fly on it’s own
When they did their practice yesterday, they flew together for a couple of passes and then separate routines and then together again for final passes.

It follows an earlier pilot episode featuring another site vehicle (now dropped for royalty issues) known as “DCW and Pen Pusher get intimate with the mini-bus”
Can I just put the record straight to say that the royalty issue was a ruse issued by the Museum PR people to cover the fact it’s intimate encounter with us caused it to have a breakdown and it never worked again.

About 30 seconds. 😀

Nice shots Brian, did you get any of TFC’s new Spitfire XVI then, or did you only get the XIV instead.:D
Noted and amended. 😮
Brian
anyone know where it is?
Until it arrives at Duxford, no one will know where its is.
Brian
Is that the one that Historic Aircraft Collection Own?
No.
No 338 was a MS-502 model with a 230hp Salmson 9AB radial engine. It was on the French civil register from 1961 to 1970 as F-BCDG and then registered in Ireland as EI-AUY. It arrived at IWM Duxford in 1983 and is on display with a German Argus AS10 engine in place of the Salmson radial.

Did a very nice and low figure of eight centered on the Vulcan at the Newark Air Museum for their Cockpitfest, at mid-day today.
