Duxford closed-ish. 😮

Due to the extreme weather conditions, only Air Space at IWM Duxford will be open for the next couple of hours. We hope to reopen the rest of the museum later this afternoon when conditions have improved. Sorry for any inconvenience.

The first episode of alternative history drama SS-GB has been criticised by viewers over its sound quality, with many complaining that lead character Douglas Archer (Sam Riley) and several of his colleagues were difficult to understand.
Such criticisms have previously been levelled at series like Jamaica Inn and most recently Tom Hardy’s Taboo, with viewers taking to Twitter to express their displeasure over the 1941-set thriller (which imagines a world where the Nazis won World War Two, based on Len Deighton’s novel) and its supposedly muffled audio.

P-51/Ferocious Frankie took advantage of the late winter warm weather and sunshine, for a very brief period, while Spitfire XIV/MV268 was moved into hangar 3 and its stable mate, P-51/Miss Velma was in hangar 2 receiving a bit of TLC. The aircraft in AirSpace have been undergoing a bit of early spring cleaning all week as the dust and cobwebs have been brushed and hovered away. Quiet outside flying wise although there was a visiting Chipmunk from Old Warden and an S-76C from Stansted doing circuits as I left. In the order taken.

Be careful someone will tell you the answer is on FACEBOOK and how stupid you are to ask that question here on an Historic aeroplane forum.
So you wont be looking at any more Lancaster updates on the ARCo Facebook page then?

Apart from the Sunderland, all the aircraft were moved out of the former Battle of Britain Hall last Thursday. The Bolingbroke IV, Stuka and He.111 fuselages are stored temporarily in Milestones and the Bf.110 fuselage is snuggled up against the Lancaster rear fuselage. Due to major landscaping works about to take place, there is limited parking at the site. There is a high fenced corridor from the road entrance to the hard car park outside Milestones and the gravel car park outside the Grahame-White hangar. If going by car, get there for doors open for a decent parking space. Photos in the order taken.

They have until next year to have it say something.
What makes you think it or any of the other BoB Hall refugees are in their final display positions?

Our staff and contractors have been very busy today, moving the last of the aircraft out of Hangar 1, ready for its transformation as part of our Centenary Plan. Here the Ju-88 is lifted onto a truck ready for its move up to RAFM Cosford.

When I left school I went to work for a firm of Architects and I did learn black and white photography there from rolling bulk 35mm film into cassettes, taking photographs, to processing the film and printing.

Proposal has been put forward by the Borough of Ealing, but RAF Northolt is in the Borough of Hillingdon
Although Ealing does have two golf courses within its boundaries that could be built on.
