Nice warm, sunny day here at Duxford. The Super Sabre is parked outside where the F-15 used to be, the Grace Spitfire is outside and fueled and the ARCo two seat Spitfire has flown off. Lots of GA visitors and a Barkeston Tutor on approach and two Army AirCorps Squirrel helicopters parked on the jet pan but the moaners and complainerswill still look and still complain.
Haste to burst your bubble Wings43 but non of my photos are HDR.
Brian
Now this is just getting silly.
Had you checked you would see that the Photographic section is for help and advice on photographic matters and air show photos non of which Duxford and other museums fall into.

I’m not one of those people who get upset or throw their toys out of the pram over comments posted about photographs I splash over the tinternet. They are the ones who have a problem, not me. They are my photographs, taken for my enjoyment, ‘over-processed’ :p :p :p the way I like π and which I just happen to share with other people.
At least I’m out there getting photographs and not sitting behind a key board criticising other people for what they are doing.
No longer tired and fully refreshed after a good nights sleep and soon heading of for another visit to Duxford
Brian
great to see after some of the over-processed stuff on this thread.
If you don’t like the look then don’t look. Simples

Posted on the IWM AAM website.
Hereβs an update on when the aircraft will be moving back into the American Air Museum if you were thinking of planning a visit to IWM Duxford to coincide with the movement of a particular aircraft.
As part of the redevelopment project, the aircraft and vehicles were removed from the American Air Museum and relocated in other buildings on site in April and May. They are now being condition-checked and, where necessary, conserved before being re-displayed in the American Air Museum when it re-opens in Spring 2016.
Here is the provisional timetable for when the aircraft will be on the move. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee these timings and they may change, for example, if the weather on a particular day means we are unable to move the aircraft safely. We are also not able to take requests to move aircraft or halt the work for photography, due to our limited schedule.

During the morning the Duxford based Bulldog and Mustang IV/’Sharkmouth’ both returned from air show duty at RAF Cosford at the weekend and we had Gunship 1 & 2, the Apache Display Team, fly over head on their way home to Wattisham from Cosford as well. During the morning, TFC had their Spitfire Mk.I/X4650 out on the airfield for an engine run and in the afternoon the Gladiator was also out for a spin of the prop.

Full stop landings.

A bit of a Mustang day at Duxford. Mustang IV/’Sharkmouth’ had a training flight with plenty of circuits off the grass before departing south for the weekend. It’s appearing at RAF Cosford for their air show on Sunday and will be back at Duxford on Monday. A little bit later ‘Ferocious Frankie’ went up for a handling flight to the north with a bit of aerobatics over the airfield on its return and will be appearing at the RAF Northolt Open Day on Saturday.

World War Two Spitfire takes to the skies from Duxford Imperial War Museum
70 years after it battled the Luftwaffe in the Second World War, this classic Spitfire is still going strong in the skies above Cambridgeshire.
The vintage one-seater fighter is operated by Classic Wings, who have run passenger flights from IWM Duxford for 25 years.
Yesterday the family firm celebrated its landmark anniversary with a public demonstration of its aerial prowess.
Events manager Terri Butcher told the News: “We were celebrating the fact that Classic Wings has been flying for 25 years at IWM.
“We started off with a little Cessna 206 doing pleasure flights, and throughout the years we have grown.
“We have carried thousands of passengers, some 7,500 last year, from all over the world; people come to us from across the UK, Australia, Japan.
“We maintain our own aircraft, refurbish and rebuild them, and have all our own engineers.”
The firm invited special guests to fly wing-to-wing with the Spitfire in an eight-seater Dragon Rapide, which was used for reconnaissance during the war.
Mrs Butcher said: “We have one Spitfire that we use here, based at Duxford, and we’ve just recently granted approval for a two-seater, so we can take passengers up in it.
“It has been so many people’s dream to fly in a Spitfire, and it’s quite unusual for a company to have done this, and been flying for the public for so many years.”
The firm offers tours above Cambridge, Ely and Newmarket, as well as into London.
Over the years its aircraft have featured in films and TV programmes including Foyle’s War, Britain from Above, Doctor Who and The One Show.

Classic Wings were have a bit of a ‘Do’ today. Their war bird fleet were lined up on the grass in front of the tower and a bit later Classic Wings staff and pilots had a group photo in front of the Silver Rapide before the two Rapides took off, followed by the OFMC Spitfire/MH434, for a Wing to Wings photo shoot. The Spitfire then did a couple of minutes of aerobatics before landing. In hangar 2 the TFC Nimrod was having a bit of TLC as was the Catalina. There was a bit of a DH Moth event on at Old Warden today but I didn’t have to go there to see a rather nice coloured DH.80A Puss Moth which visited Duxford for a couple of hours and a Red Bull called in for a spot of fuel.

Excellent Photoshopping in that they actually added foliage to the trees on the left and cut the grass and opened the gates behind the phone box for the Sally-B shot compared to the other photo.
