The Blenheim was flying as part of a feature being filmed today at ARC for “The One Show” with Historian Dan Snow on board (plus a whole armful of go pro and other cameras). The programme should be shown just before the May Duxford show and I’ll try to post a firm date as soon as we are informed ourselves

The TFC Nimrod was out on the airfield for an engine run this morning but the engineers were still working on the engine back in the hangar when I left. Sitting out on the jet pan this morning were five French registered GA aircraft who departed during the afternoon for Headcorn. Classic Wings were busy having one of their ‘Tiger & Tanks’ days where you go flying in a Tiger Moth and have a spin in an APC up at the Land Warfare Hall tank track and a Chipmunk being the only war bird visitor. The ‘temporary’ American Air Museum in AirSpace is open to the public over the weekend but liable to close come Tuesday when more airframes are moved in.

My take on the moves.

Errr, that was yesterday and it didn’t crash as it hadn’t taken off yet.

The Catalina had engines running when doors opened this morning and then performed two practice displays and after refueling headed off to Le Touquet in French France. The camouflaged T.28 Fennec was going to go for a test flight and some aerobatics over the airfield but as it began its take off roll the nose wheel threw a wobbly and bounced off down the runway, minus aeroplane. The pilot was OK. The airfield was effectively closed until the T.28 was removed late in the afternoon. The Blenheim had a row rev engine run outside ARCo and then moved back to its parking place in hangar 3 which fortunately meant the war birds were moved outside for all the photographers, and there were a lot of them, to drool over. At the American Air Museum, they were dismantling the FSM Mustang and the P-47 was spied in hangar 5 behind the F-15 and the Avenger is in its new home in hangar 3.

I have no problem with discussions of pictures posted in the thread, it’s when certain members get on their high horses and go off on their personal moans, ad nauseam, because they don’t like the way a certain thing is done. That is the problem.
You obviously missed the WebMaster’s instructions in the Forum Code Of Conduct in reference to you post #847

The last time the Diary descended into a ‘discussion’ by a couple of people with an axe to grind, it got deleted.
If this is now a discussion thread then no point in posting any photos on it.
Brian
Pretty sure this Thread is for discussions of activities at Duxford.. not sure why you have an issue?
Best change the title to ‘Duxford Discussion (2015)’ then.
Brian
So once again the Duxford Diary thread has gone from a reference of activities taking place at Duxford to a platform for a vocal minority to air their personal agendas against the museum. Again. That should be taken to a separate thread so you can throw yours toys about to your hearts content and leave the Diary for the enjoyment of the majority.
Brian
Apologies for any scoop busting but usual Reporters seemed absent!
Contrary to popular belief, I’m not there everyday. 😀
Besides it was raining this morning.

My take on a quiet day at Duxford

Brian
Avenger was still like that when I left early this afternoon.
Brian
My take on the day’s activities.
