Don’t know what the return bus fare to Duxford Village is but you can get a Day Rider+ ticket for £6.40p which is valid to ride on any Stagecoach bus in Cambridgeshire all day and the return train fare is £5.60p.

It’s about a two mile walk from Duxford Village and from Whittlesford Parkway Station (takes me about 25 minutes to walk from the station). The only difference is from Cambridge Station as a starting point, about 45 minutes on a once an hour bus depending on the traffic or 12 minutes on a train and two an hour.

The one down at ARCo is going.

There is also a Go Whippet bus service from Babraham Road Park & Ride. http://www.go-whippetSERVICE-7a.pdf It stops at ‘Heathfield – Opp Garage’ which is the stop behind the American Air Museum.

The Citi-7 bus to the museum stopped when the council sold their shares in the museum site several years ago. From Cambridge you can get the train to Whittlesford Parkway Station, about 10-12 minutes duration, then walk to the museum, about 25 minutes even on air show day’s.

Classic Wings ‘Fly in a Spitfire’ was taking place today with the Biggin Hill two-seat Spitfire/MJ627 using the call sign ‘Tiger 1′. Five flights in all and as there are non tomorrow it should be back at Biggin Hill by now. The rest of the Classic Wings fleet were also flying, with the Tiger Moths doing formation departures, despite the gusty conditions and the ARCo Harvard/’Taz’ flew a few circuits in the bright sunny clear blue sky. Lots of GA visitors, mostly PA-28’s but the EC120B helicopter took the prize as the most colorful visitor.

20 minutes along the A14/M11, if the traffic is flowing, and it just seems like every day.

Who’s Sheryl Rook and Russell Rook?
No idea who they are but Duxford based Sheryl and Russell are Crow’s.:D
Brian
Must have been a long day as it took me a while to figure out why they were called Sheryl and Russell.:stupid:
My take on the day’s events.

Brian
A few of mine from a very blustery Sunday at Duxford.

Brian
My take on the day’s activities and no I wasn’t standing next to DCW for the Bulldog shot but due to the haze, it was about the only time there was any decent light on the aircraft.:D

Brian
and a party of school kids who seemed totally uninterested in the displays. Something you don’t seem to get at Duxford.
Oh yes you do.

My take on a quiet day although hangar doors were open and it would have been remiss of me not to take advantage of that opportunity.:D
