Only change noticed today has been with the V2 which has moved from 4 to 5 hangar.
Obligatory (proper) monopod shot :rolleyes::D

28th January 2013
The day started out nice with blue sky and sunshine but by lunchtime it was dark, cold, windy and raining. Anyway – two ARCo engineers, and Terence, were playing musical aeroplanes with their stock in hangar 2 and 3. The camouflaged T.28 Fennec was moved down to the ARCo compound and was having an engine run in the rain when I left. The Sabre does appear to have an engine in it now following a look see down the tail pipe.

Just a couple from me on the DH.9 photo shoot today. 😀

Great shots as always Pen Pusher. Just a quick question, has the Yale flown much in the last 4 or 5 years?
I was looking for something else in my Photobucket account and found a picture of the conclusion of its last flight. I haven’t seen it flying since then.

Warbirds In The Mist @ Duxford – 16Jan13
Not exactly the ideal lighting conditions today for outdoor photography but it had to be done. Many thanks to the two ARCo Aeroplane Shifters for the Yale/Harvard/T.28 and nearly SNJ-5N line up.

Free coffee, snow and helicopters. Could be worth another visit. 😀

In somewhat hazy conditions for photography, the TFC Mk XIVe Spitfire was tied down at the end of the runway for an engine run this morning.

Hand Held in AirSpace. Again – 07Jan13
As I’m planning a visit to Hendon next Saturday, after their spring clean, I thought I’d get in a bit of practice at hand holding/low light/even lower shutter speeds in AirSpace as not a lot was happening around Duxford. I was experimenting with the in-camera Bracket function because I’ve not tried it yet. Basically you can manually set the ISO and Aperture and the camera then takes three images in quick succession, one as per the settings, one at a longer exposure for a lighter image and one at a shorter exposure for a darker image. With the Sony NEX-5N there are just two Bracket settings. +/-0.3EV & +/-0.7EV. Out of the three images I had at least one, and if I was lucky two, that were in focus at the very low shutters speeds I was using. The beauty of digital is that I can delete the naff ones.
0.62sec ~ f7.1 ~ ISO400 ~ +0.7EV
0.62sec ~ f6.3 ~ ISO800 ~ +0.7EV
1/3sec ~ f7.1 ~ ISO400 ~ +0.7EV
1/2sec ~ f7.1 ~ ISO400 ~ +0.3EV
0.62sec ~ f6.3 ~ ISO400 ~ +0.3EV

Not quite a prop circle but as the engine checks were made a bit of vapour at the bottom of the prop.
While waiting for the Trojan, the elastic in the Stearman was wound up. :diablo:

Brian iirc they happen at speed. You also see them on F1 cars in the wet.
I Lied :diablo:
I did get ‘Prop Rings’ but with a 200mm lens it’s a very heavy crop which I don’t like doing as you lose detail.
Brian
I didn’t get any prop circles 🙁
