Getting back on topic and with DCW otherwise engaged elsewhere today, after a lot of pushing and pulling with a bit of chopping down, the Amiot AAC.1 Toucan/(Junkers Ju52/3M) is now parked air side up by the American Air Museum until a bit of remedial work has been completed and then it’ll move for static in next the air show.

I am so glad the majority of enthusiasts are friendly folk, unlike you.
not everyone has 24/7 internet I know of countless older folk who are still getting to grips with it, and if they decide to take their Grandchildren to see the a/c they have a connection to, hopefully they wont meet some ignorant pig who thinks it is their fault for not knowing.
A perfect example is a former Beaufighter pilot who was relishing seeing the TFC one fly one day – I would like to see you call him a fool if he had gone there and it had left.
Yes I’m such an unfriendly and pig ignorant enthusiast that I didn’t take time out yesterday, and once today, to explain to a couple of visitors the reason why the ‘Ju52’ was outside or to photo document it and post it on several forums for lots of people to look at.
I take it Sadsack that if you go to a museum to see a specific aircraft and it’s not there, then it’s the museums fault for getting rid of that aircraft before you had seen it, and not your fault for checking to see if it was there to see before you went?.
Oh, and us old people don’t have to rely on the internet thingy to get our information from. There is a wonderful invention that’s been around for years called the Tel-e-phone. It’s a device you can speak to other people with.

An an unfriendly and pig ignorant enthusiast. Oink, oink. :diablo:
I am on the side of anyone who needs to see a specific a/c, goes all the way to Duxford only to find its not there after all these years. They are the IWM property but we pay the entrance fee!
Then more the fool the person for not checking to see if it is there first before making the journey.

As has been mentioned many times before it’s not a Ju52 but an Amiot AAC.1 Toucan, built post war. :diablo:

My take on the movements today with some interesting photo opportunities presenting themselves in the car park between the two hangars.

The Tucano is based at Duxford this weekend as it’s displaying at the Ramsey 1940s Weekend
I would have thought Wyton would have been an obvious base as Ramsey is only minutes away flying time.

A delivery at ARCo this afternoon. It beats a container :diablo:

HG691 was operating out of Headcorn on Saturday during the Combined Ops event held there.

Monday 23rd – A Quiet Day At Duxford. 😀
2x T9 Spitfire’s up and down like yo-yo’s all day. Mk VIII Spitfire(D-FEUR) left for home, HAC Nimrod went up for an air test and was taking off again as I left. OFMC P-51 ‘Frankie’ flew with some aerobatics thrown in and a Cy-29(HA-YAO) arrived first thing and parked up in the ARCo compound and the Catalina did some low power engine runs. Apart from that, and Classic Wings flying, a quiet and sunny day and BT still haven’t fixed my phone line yet so no piccies. 🙁
Brian
Nope. Doing this on a netbook. BT said fixed on Friday yet still no dialing tone.
