Fantastic videos there. Any more from GLA?
Well they did drop CWL-GLA for CWL-PIK which in my opinion was a bit stupid!
Have they lost passengers because of this?
Also CWL-PIK was soon after operated by 6G aircraft?
Got to agree with you here, GLA-CWL was 2daily 737 then they moved to PIK and its now a 1daily ATR.
I should have said it’s best for the politicians to “slug” it out. 😉
There we go :diablo:
Neither airport needs a 2nd runway IMHO. As I’ve mentioned in other threads what is required, especially at GLA is a longer runway capabling of handling fully laden heavies.
On top of that, further apron infrastructure improvement and investment needs to be carried out at both airports before either even thinks about handling the levels of traffic that will necessitate a 2nd runway.
As for the politics of EDI’s alleged preferred status for a 2nd runway, well we’ve been down this road before many times and it’s one that’s best left to the politicians to sort out.
Agree with all of that apart from “it’s one that’s best left to the politicians to sort out” I wouldnt leavy anything for them to sort out.
Well so far i cant see any reason why this thread is going to go down that road and i hope it dosent.
hear we go again
ding ding, round 2
??
IMO GLA was never out of the race for the 2nd runway.
I think the V means ( feel free to correct me if i am wrong ) the aircraft does not return to original airport it departed from
ie.departs say Glasgow to Palma but returns to Gatwick
hence a W flight would be GLA to PMI to GAT to PMI to GLA.
Had alot of XLA flights with diffrent letters at the end at GLA in the last few days.
Brilliant shots there, why was VZ at NCL?
Been to the Greek islands many a time the latest just a few weeks ago in Rhodes but never tried spotting, dont really do much spotting atoll.
I don’t think you’ll be seeing B777-300ERs on a regular basis, EK. 🙂
A 772 will be put on the route then a 773ER
EK are upgrading the daily A330 at to a daily 777-300ER. A 772 will be used 1st then upped again to a 773ER. check it on http://www.emirates.com, http://www.baa.com/glasgow, the glasgow google groupe, http://www.flightmapping.com/news/26.asp.

From the Scotsman
“Additional capacity will then be added on the long-haul route later that month when a larger Boeing 777-300 is introduced – bringing with it 149 more seats per day than the 278 currently available. “
Nice shots, the 773 certenly is a beast, cant wait to see it on a daily bases at GLA from the 1st of October 😀
Nice shots Matt, they certenly are getting better all the time. Keep em coming!
I didnt think an A330 was actually based at GLA
They have a A330 based aswell as a A320 and 757. They A330 that is based at GLA from May 1st is G-OMYT.
Wow fantastic shots. Is that MYT A330 the MYT A330 that is based at GLA?
