MSN9 route proving
MSN009
The route proving will continue, flying to Dubai; Melbourne, Australia; Manilla and Luzon in the Philippines and back to Dubai before returning to Toulouse (8th till 13th October). 🙂 🙂
Beluga Flights
Airbus has a fleet of 5 Belugas, that variously fly between the sites eg Toulouse, Hamburg, St Nazaire, Nantes, Broughton, and I think Bremen and a site in Spain.
It is obviously a well oiled logistics operation eg they are 3 in and out of HAM today, normally with only a 2 or 3 hour turnaround:) 🙂 🙂
Germanwings emergency landing
As was stated earlier, the logo stands out, gets you noticed
The G/W aircraft made an emergency landing yesterday shortly after t/o at HAM, this being the HAM-LGW evening flight, saw it a couple of times flying around, presumably dumping fuel.
German newsreports this morning indicate probable cause as being bird ingestion
Add XL to the list of poor A/L
Not flown charter in recent years other than XL fron HUM last year. never again. I dont think they give a flying fig for customers.
Inbound from PMA, the turnaround was over 2 hrs, avg 45mins all other a/l. Our flight was delayed, no maintenance appeared to be taking place, and guess what, diverted into MAN then bussed back to HUM, due to HUM curfew, therefore what was expected to be late evening arrival turned out to be 5am, Was I cynical enough to suggest to XL this was a positioning move as there were no XL flights out of HUM
Outward flight was just as bad, 3 hr delay due to no crew(obviously necessary!!), then diversion into LGW(including a flyaround due to overshoot)to pick up more passengers(not advertised) final arrival 5 1/2 hrs late
😡 😡 😡
Didn’t that Merchantman end up flying for Air Bridge out of Belfast? Or maybe it is t
Iam pretty sure that the Merchantman did finish up with ABC, but didnt they operate out of EMA. I remember HS Dynamics o/hling the props etc for them at the timeIncidentally BA had a store of Vanguard propsbought from AC, which still had hours on them, the occasional prop then being sold off to ABC or EAS in Perpignan
Germanwings Hamburg logo
Here is another logo from Germanwings, introduced in the last 2 months. have flown in it between HAM and LGW a couple of times recently, also regularly seen it at other times so I presume it is based here in Hamburg. Not to sure about the scheme, but it gets noticed
who’s the pilot Benny Hill
Surely it has to be the Chuckle Brothers, they have the experience
🙂
UK domestic routes…?
I’m just waiting for MME to come up with something more positive than flights to the sun, if it wants to grow.
Afterall bmibaby did have MME-LGW before they pulled out due to low numbers(so they said), every time I flew the route is was over 90%.:(
This weeks route proving
I think the schedule of the LH route proving aircraft this week is
FRA-JFK-ORD-JFK-FRA then
FRA-HKG-FRA then
FRA-IAD-FRA-MUN-TLS:)
MAN Closure
Due to the little bit of white stuff at MAN, inbound Air Berlin flight circled for about 30 mins before it was diverted to BHX for refuelling. AB5265 subseqently left 3 hrs late for HAM, but was diverted to HAJ, due to HAM closure. It was a long journey:mad:
Niagara Falls
If your trip to Buffalo is short, then fine, just head straight over the bridge to the Canadian side to view the Falls. If staying longer then why replace Buffalo with Toronto, its only a couple of hours drive away and there is more to see in TO.
Would agree with Shadow1, if its still snow, cold and icy, its another spectacle altogether compared to Summer

Beluga
All 5 Belugas fly regularly between TLS, Hamburg(Finkenwerder), Hawarden, Nantes and St Nazaire eg there will be 3 in and out out FKW today incl 1 from Hawarden
Give Buffalo a miss
Or just use it as a transit point and head over to the Canadian side for the best view of the falls
