In a word Filton welcomes GA, there is only 1 training organisation there to my knowledge in the form of Aeros, and alot of privately owned GA aircraft there, (EDITED to say, sorry Coanda, just read that you posted this πŸ™‚ ) they fit you in really well, I had a flight today and when I returned they were extremely busy but accommodated me really well as ever, they get alot of ILS approaches there from training aircraft so it can get busy sometimes but nothing too great.
There isn’t too much at Filton to look at, obviously Concorde is there, there is no restaurant or cafe as such but a very short taxi ride will see you in Filton itself and there are a few cafes etc there, it is even walking distance if you have a spare 20 minutes, visiting aircraft get the privilage of parking on apron 1 which is by the ops building, us residents have to use apron 2 which is the other side of the airport and have to drive, if you arrive and they tell you to park in apron 2 tell them to shove off as you can’t walk to the ops office :). Landing fees I “think” are about 15 pounds.

    I’ve still never even seen a DC-8!

    Paul

We have an MK airlines DC8 parked up at Filton, taxied past her today and forgot to photo her, I’ll get my pax to take a photo of her next time we go.

Shame about the little Accident Sandy, hopefully she will be repaired and put back into service asap

Ah ok, I wasn’t sure as I have not got a multi monitor display, Rikki’s suggestion sounds spot on to be honest, Simon, you could try the forums at Avsim for this, there are a myriad of posts on this subject if I recall

    hindΒ·sight
    n.

    1. Perception of the significance and nature of events after they have occurred.

    My emphasis.

I think you’ll find I was pointing out this was all a fantasy from pretty much day one.

Always the patronising one aint we

the hindsight was the comment you took great delight in sharing, that was

    “I told you so”
    πŸ˜€

You can only say that after the event because it has failed, and no matter how you dress it up or down you could not have known it would have gone that way, not really, it was your opinion and not fact at the time that it would fail, sure it’s fact now but it’s the way you come across that get’s up people’s noses.
There were only ever 2 outcomes, achieve or fail, a 50 – 50 chance of getting the right outcome, so well done you, very commendable, as is revelling in someone else’s mis-fortunes and failures.

    Over and out.

    Wonderful hindsight there, well played

At least he tried, he may have failed, it may not have come off, but at least he had the balls to give it a shot

Someone correct me if I am wrong but don’t you need a little program called Wide FS for this? I “think” it’s a free download from Avsim etc
