Great pics Paul, and a gret insight thanks for these.
If you had fare paying pax aboard then yes commercial forums as I’m sure they would love to see these pics anyway 😉
I’ll leave this post here because as you quite rightly say there is an element of GA about the King Air too 😉
Is your King Air certified for single pilot ops or multi crew Paul?

Merry Christmas all, be safe, it’s a dangerous place out there, happy aviating

Over the last few months i’ve noticed a deterioration in the print quality of TP. In the Feb 06 issue (p18) there is an ink streak vertically through the buccaneer article. There have been numerous other examples.
I have other Key mags delivered, yet none of the others suffer the same problem.
Some TPs arrive with the spine badly cracked.
Why the difference? I’m considering stopping my subscription when it comes for renewal.
EyestoTheSkies
I have been a printer myself for 16 years, so I know what happens at the sharp end of production when producing quality work, Key Publishing will set the highest standards possible for their glossy magazines as does all our customers in my field (we produce flexible packaging for the food industry), with the print process comes inherant print faults, these are generally only detectable after they have happened, the fault is then flagged up and the offending material is disposed of before it can go down the production line, print machines produce thousands of copies per hour and the odd few copies will inevitably get “through the loop”, and whilst this is regretable it is a by-product of the print process, it is absolutely impossible to have 100% quality on 100% of a production run and whilst Key would undoubtably expect 100% quality and would reject anything that was not so again a few will get through generally due to the high volume.
I suggest rather than cancel your subscription that you phone Key if your magazine does not reach you in the highest quality and ask for a replacement, and without speaking personally for them I would be pretty surprised if they refused you a replacement copy.
Keep the subscription going, TP is a great magazine for resource and information, it would be a shame if you had to cancel due to this but speak to them is all I can suggest.

Good luck Rlangham, and for a worthy cause as well, nice one

Good luck with it Dean. The one thing that puts me off night flying is where do you put the thing down if the fan stops?? The thought of being away from the airfield and aiming for a ‘Black’ bit and hoping for the best is not very appealing. At least in daylight you can see the ditches, fences etc….
I think I’ll save the fun of night flying until I get a MEP rating. At least if an engine goes i’ll have a fighting chance of landing back between the runway lights 😉
I concur Simon, my night flying will be somewhat limited once I have the qualification, an engine failure in an SEP at night does not fill me with excitement, I haven’t been there as yet but I wonder how much you can actually see once you get closer to the ground, I bet it’s a little more than what’s on view at altitude, but even then yes highly risky. If I did not need the night for my CPL issue then I am not sure I would do it, having 2 babies under the age of 2 certainly makes you think about it alot more.
DME, yes mate great views, and shouldn’t our landings be the other way around? good by day & dodgy by night? oh well at least I can see myself stuff up during the day, problem is so can everyone else HAHA.
Rob sorry to hear about your colour blindness, bit of a bummer, shame you haev to miss out on such views but at least you did get to do it at some point.
Andy only 2 nights? baaa you lucky thing, hit & miss I guess, even tonight looks like its going to be a great night but we could have about 8k vis 🙁
It is a great tool isn’t it for being able to stay a little while longer somewhere, or if you get delayed you can factor out the gethomeitis that alot of pilots suffer.
Anyway a Nav Ex tonight I think to Gloucester for some circuits so I can see the difference between a narrow runway and the wide runway of Filton.
I’ll do a report when I get back 🙂

Schiphol for the first one & Christchurch NZ for the 2nd one 🙂
The crew probably didn’t think it was that cool 😉 If you had acces to the vicerecorder of that 74 at the time of the go-around, I sure you would hear something like ‘ahhh bl++dy’ell, here we go!’ 😀 A go-around is something you do not need after a long flight!
Indeed not Galdri, and I’m sure the beancounters hate it too, Galdri what equipment do you fly? is it the 752 for icelandair? and any idea how much a routine go-around costs your airline?
BigJet have you tried the obvious? press L twice to switch off lights and back on again, give it a try and see what happens, have you got logo lights?
Im sure Qantas used to fly these trips before, not sure why they stopped
Not everyone wants this thread locked, not everyone thinks like you, so lets keep to the topic and keep the discussions constructive 🙂
Anyway, AlphaOne are really getting to me with every thread. Such a pathetic little kid.
You are going the right way about getting this thread locked/deleted, keep up the good work.
Robbo the payware aircraft are generally the only planes that are equipped with autoland, the basic freeware models do not even contain a Rad Alt which is an integral part of autoland, generally if your model has more than 1 autopilot and an FMC it may or should have autoland capabilities, the only thing the freeware ones do generally is fly the ILS from LLZ capture to GS capture and then down the ILS to as low as you would want it, I generally disconnect the autopilot on good visual with the runway which is alot of airline’s SOP but your choice, I would recommend disconnecting at the MM.

Stunning shots Phil
Mr D, this VA has been running now since ooo, December 2002 or something like that, it is not MY VA, and the only reason I am doing it this way is to not get into trouble for advertising by the actualy airline that it copies. The real airline gave us specific things which we must and must not do, you see its much easier to run a fake one.
Also I have a lot of interest coming into my e-mail box and pm box of this forum, and i think the pilots appreicate it this way.
We do not want people to just join, we want them to think about it and see if they are ready, as youll know since your doing an ATPL course theres a lot of things to aviation that many people find they havent a clue about. We want these people to get the relevant training, and then to join us feeling confident with a group like vatsim.
If you wish to join my dear friend i say again, email me: stokerb15@aol.com (do you copy that?)
Thanks again, Ben
Do you speak to everyone like they are your 6 year old son?
May I remind it is you who is patronising, it is you who is antagonising us at KeyJet, it is you who is provoking an arguement.
Now may I suggest you quit right now, and whilst you’re at it take a look at the CoC
