why don’t you both do it t start with? share the load etc?
Once we have the positions filled we can then discuss as a group things like routes, flight times, schedules, flight reporting, recruitement, promotions, fleet etc all answerable to the CEO
We need to have a management structure, i.e a CEO, Ops manager, CFI, Personnel Officer, Fleet manager.
I will put myself forward for the CFI position as I am a Senior Check Captain for another VA, I have to ask them 1st as they have a policy of any management positions cannot be part of another VA, I’ve sent them an email, should hear back tonight, the CEO must be someone responsible and someone who is willing to put some time into it and take it seriously. Wozz I haven’t got a problem it being you or LGKR for CEO.

I created my own some time ago, the only problem is that it’s a Lotus Word Pro file & not Word or Excel, I’ll see if I can re-create it for you in the above formats and get it posted off

How about calling it something related to this forum, afterall that’s the idea isn’t it? a forum virtual airline?
The most original thing I can think of right now is KJA or KeyJet Airlines.
Thoughts?
Also hubs, LCY would be good, how about Bristol? it’s a great airport to operate from, it doesn’t get that much recognition, its great for low clouds & poor vis which is good, has a decent sized runway which can take 757s etc.
Fleet wise I think we shouldn’t over complicate things to start with, we need something easy to download and repaint, most people have the PSS Dash 8-300, and what about a regional jet? Emb has been mentioned, sounds good to me. What others are out there for download apart from the usual?
Routes, simple commuter routes, Amsterdam, Dublin, Paris CDG & Orly, etc, basically what Airline Owner said.
9 years? arf, my Pooley’s don’t go back that far
Bad news indeed, makes me wonder why I am doing what I do sometimes
Condolences to all involved 🙁

It’s worth investing £19.99 on Traffic 2005 from Justflight, it’s awesome it really is, as for free AI traffic you can use AI ardvaark, they create some great planes for AI but it is a bit of a fag to get it all working, I’ve never tried so I can’t help you. Do a search at avsim

I have one hanging around I think, I’ll check later when I get 5 minutes

Tom is about right, but your pitch attitude should be between 2 & 5 degrees nose up, it’s called profile and would ideally like to be at Vref showing the profile by about 3DME, if your nose is too low just decrease speed a tad then wait for the change, conversly if it’s too high just increase speed a tad and wait for the change
hope this helps

or why not try flying online with VATSIM, and try a route from Man – LHR in a Dash8, can get very interesting 🙂
I do feel sorry for the owner, especially as he is getting the blame from speculators, leave him alone, he was in hospital a lot earlier this year, it just goes to show you how idiotic some pilots really are. By the way if you want the airports website its: http://www.chris.gurney.co.uk/
What are you talking about Wozza? nobody is getting on his back in here
I didn’t mean “just leave” your job and do nothing, I have a hefty mortgage & 2 kids + an over indulging wife as well and this is not an option, I meant look for another job then leave 🙂
I work shifts also but I only do a 3 day week but it’s 14hrs per day as I have to commute 1hr either side, I also do night shift alternating with days so I do get some time off but you spend ½ of it getting over the shifts you have just worked.
Have you considered The Open University? I have studied with them and they are great, you can even get your employer to sponsor you if they are willing, you may even be able to get on a course which could further your career with the company you are with, check out their website if interested or phone for a prospectus.

If you hate your jobs, just leave, remember there will always be someone out there willing to do your job, and also remember that you actually HAVE a job, what’s the alternative? life on the dole, be thankful for what you have 🙂 and as was said earlier, if you are unhappy do something about it, jobs don’t come to you, you have to go to the job, so get applying 😉
