Very interesting…although I will be honest and admit that I did not know there was an airport at Gloucester!:!
Being pedantic there isn’t “really” an airport in Gloucester, it’s called Gloucestershire Airport rather than Gloucester Airport, the address is Cheltenham, we’re smack bang inbetween Gloucester & Cheltenham
hmm, interesting to see something different than the normal Citations & light a/c fly into my local airfield. The route seems a bit of a risk though, but hopefully it will pay off. I wonder how the locals will react, especially when we want to install an ILS etc
2 words – political scapegoat
Great shots Jamie, love them all
Happy belated birthday mate, I hope you had a great day
Dean
Can you hear the difference in sound the two pictures are making?:D
Hehe naa, I’ll be flying a Dash soon so I would hate to get it wrong 😉
Pic No1 is the 100 & Pic No2 is the 300 for sure
Ah, let me rephrase that, the 1st picture is a 100 for sure. The 2nd Dash is the 300
Dean
It’s definitely a Dash8 Q300
Thanks for the info chaps
Flarkey, PM on the way

Fantastic shots Paul, love the Flybe Q400 & the Great Wall 744F
Hi John
It’s Dean not Steve 😉
Give it a go mate and see how you go, also have you got the latest graphics drivers? what is your flight sim screen resolution set to? and what is your scenery density etc set to?
No mate no cricket as yet, should be ok for tomorrow though.
As for the job, I am flight instructing full time, and I had an interview with a major UK carrier on Monday this week, all went well, I am just waiting for the call for a sim check & job offer.
Speak soon
Dean
Keep up the good work Neil, you’ll get there.
As far as the ILS scan goes, all I can say is that you need to have a fast scan, a very fast scan, so try speeding it up a tad, but try and decipher what the instruments are telling you at the same time, remember as you get closer in the ILS gets more sensitive, so if you see either the GS or LLZ going out it is normally too late to rectify it without it going out of limits, you have to jump on it as soon as it happens. Fast scan is the key here.
I also found the best way to fly the ILS was attitude, if you fly the correct power setting, at the correct speed and fly the correct attitude she will fly nicely down the GS, then all you have to worry about is the LLZ.
In our sim the AI has a small dot in the centre, well if I set up at the correct power setting and fly with this dot a fraction below the horizon she’d fly beautifully down the GS at the right speed.
