Yeas I’m aware of the old soviet division of PVO and army based airdefence systems. What interest me is that is the current-day russia still designing systems for the basis of the old soviet doctrine or is the missile design bureys marketing their products in the principles of “free market economy”? Is there any indications that russian would simplyfy the airdefence branch and there after the development of SAMs (mean: go for single system per range)?
For example this Viytaz system seems to be intended more for armylevel airdefence units rather than PVO and yet is derivated from the S-300 family. Is it somesort of domestic competitor to new generation Buk’s?
Just out of curiosity, Is it me or is Russians somewhat moved on from the Buk? It seems that the 9M96 missile is taking over the medium range missile sector. Isen’t the new naval SAM for the pr. 2235 supposed to be the 9M96 and not the VLS Shtill?
…and they use to throw those things all naked…Is that what you guys are really after??;)

You missed the chance to call the Red Arrows militaristic show pieces of the Imperialist, capitalist system…
well I didn’t need to becouse I knew that in matter of mere hours either you or few other bit too selfpleased members would have came to add it in it:diablo: :diablo: 😀  😀
And beside, Im not here to bash Red Arrows, They propaply have earned their place in British hearts, but their place is some where else than in olympics.
Dont fool your self that this is your govrnments political correcteness -act, but pure show of taste and politness that all game holders should apply. Its far greater glory for UK when it shows that it can honour the traditions of the olympic movment rather than pull some flag waving stunt.

If Im not wrong, Didn’t the general olympic spirit (all nations come together as sport ect…) actually mean that nations can be presented without nationalistic boast, not to mention military sabre clashing? Thats why the ’36 games gets all the dirt upon it in the history books; thats why the Americans couldn’t raise the flag found in WCT after the strike in Salt Lake??
To me it seems that most ones in this thread hasen’t got even sligthest clue of what the olympics are about:confused:
