hmm sorry if I didnt get the point….you are saying that becouse gay american soldiers harrash someone in the real life, you cannot post in Keypublishing forum:confused:
Is it just me, but i dont see any connection there…unless we have some odd “dark-side”, a hidden sub forum to advocate agressive gay behavior…

But then again, everybody makes his own choises. See ya, if you decide to return, China needs clever and inteligent advocates in internet’s military forums and otherwise the j-xx fanboys will drown us, you appeared to be one of the better posters in those subjects.

    Ilmavoimat…??
    almoust to the point;) 😉

Anyway, when speaking of SA navies, you should really look the situation from their angle and from their history. Trougth the 20st century, there have been naval rivaly between the “super powers” of the region and that have always included one or two “big ones” per navy (and always “bigger than the ones in the neighbours:D ) It was so with the dreadnougths, and it was so with the carriers. Not only that Argentina and Brazil operated two ex WWII british ligth fleet carriers, there were other plans for such as well. Peruvians considered really seriously of purchasing HMS Bulwark in the 70’s. Chileans were so desperate that they even considered of turning their old Brooklyn class cruiser into Flattopper…

So in the ligth of current military situation in SA, the near scrapyard Sao Paolo , four Sky Hawks and two pilots are adequote to the task that the entire ship and its precidors were mented be….You guys seriosly werent thinking that Brazilian navy should have some practical military use of its carrier:eek:  😮

I have to agree with rumcajs, Rally is one of my favorite motorsports too. Its huge thing in here naturally and exspecially in my family. Sadly Lahti didn’t won the competition for the new route in Finnish rally (it stayed in Jyväskylä) They would have drove right next to my homeplace.

Don’t blame me, I’m just refering to sources much wiser than you and I.
But what I know about shtealht (and that isen’t much) is that its mostly down to the angles. Type 23 have like I said its right angles deleted which reduces its RCS. thats mostly evident in the weird shape of the front superstructure. For example the latest Alreigh Burkes and pr. 1154 Neustrashimyy is said to have similar features.

054A is “clean”, it have smooth hull-lines which also reduces the RCS. But unlike real sthealt ships like the Swedish Visby it still have quite “rude” upperstructure siluete. I’m not arguing which one of the technics is better, that also wasen’t my point in the begining. I just pointed out that Type 23 also features reduced radar singnature and is said according to Conway’s being invicible to the most common SSM seekers existing today.

We still don’t know anything about HHQ-16 other than what can be assumed from the external systems most likely fitted for it. Thats mainly based around those Orekh-like of illuminators and the VLS set. From the actual missile we still don’t know wheter its completely indegenious or derivation from the Shtill series. So its premature to make any assumptions wheter its better/worse than some other missile.

What comes for the “sthealthyness” of the hull, Type 23 have right angles deleted from the superstructure (thus its rather weird appearance) and it’s was claimed that it was “invisible” to all current SSM radar seekers then in service (1990’s).

well Formula 1 is huge thing here in Finland, it has always been atleast when I have been around, and the days when Mika Häkkinen (the one and only who could challenge Schumaher in his prime) was driving certainly where thrilling. This season was supposed to be the ultimate finnish season becouse both of our drivers were in top team…but now we have some Hamlinton from some tiny britania spoiling our day:mad: (:p ) 😡

Who is/was your favourite driver? _ Mika Häkkinen
Which is/was your favourite team? _ McLaren (it will time to get use to renault and Ferrari, the former opponents)
Which is/was your favourite circuit? _Monaco

well in this case, why don’t you explain how T-23 and OHP are better than 054A?

well Type-23 is often quoted as best ASW ship that there is in frigate category and thougth dating from mid-80’s it still present quantium leap with Sonar system and expecially with its gas-turbine /diesel-eletric porpulsion comapared to what Chinese have come up this far. OHP has also Gas turbine porpulsion and its ASW fit would still be superior to chinese one.

054/054A are diesel powered large patrol ships with good multipurpose armament and superficially they seem to fit perfectly to the tactical needs of PN, but few closer detail issues speaks more behalf of the two mentioned warhorses.

    1) Proven desing. Both OPH and Type-23 are well liked by the corresponding builder navies and the vessels have proven to be good sea boats and expecially OPH has succeed many export sales among traditional sea going nations like Australia and Spain.

054A however isent yet even entered into full PLAN service so nothing can be said of its succesfullnes. 054A still suffers from the chinese warship-desing neglect in the past and it still is a first of its kind in the builder navy that haven’t had anything preciding desing for the role of the ship is marketed. Previous chinese frigates werent frigates in western sense but SRK type ships in the eastern sense.
What I have understood, PN is aquiring frigates, not large sentry vessels

    2) the the prise/quality factor. With bargain of second hand warship prizes you still get special expertise of superpower needs along with everyday multipurpose pagacke that is only superficially behind of that in 054A.

(Type-23’s special skills made it flop in export markets along with the fall of the enemy of they were desinged to soldier, but ASW is still paramount to navies like PN with clear direction of thread with strong submarine arm.)

    3) Aviability. Type-23 and OHP can be delivered almoust instantly but 054As would need to be build first, stepping the toes of PLANs own crucial rearmament program.
