well in really brief, Bazalt was big dream of Soviet navy back in early 60’s and lots of projects get desinged by it as their main weapon but the intial tests were failures and the missile didn’t get operational until much later when newere systems like granit and malachit were allreadty desinged or under devolpment. It is basicly a supersonic P-5 (shaddock) and almoust comparaple to its meassures (I remember some Juliets and Echoes were modernised from shaddock to sandbox), thougth it required lot more advanced guidance kits…I will get back to more deatailed answer later (unless someone else gets to explain it first)

Well, this is something Swedish teachers always told us as big plus for Swedish, easy to learn and useful throughout Scandinavia.

Well to uss finns it actually isen’t so easy to learn, among the other indo-european languages (slavic, german and roman/latin languages).This is becouse we finns (and estonians, their language is as close to as as norweigian is to swedish) and hungarians belongs to totally different language family called finno-ugrian languages. It’s much older language family and it was actually dominant in the western part of Eurasia before the indoeuropean languages took over. There are other languages of this family too, forming huge part of russian minority languages.

Thus it’s quite suprising how good the english skills are here in generally, about 90 of 10-50 year old people can speak it or at least understand it…

Niet gavarii ruskii haraso…Like many others I can read cyrilics and know some phrases and words, just about adequate enough to satisfy my interest in russian and other slavic language stuff…
