Even if the gun does not turn each pull of the trigger will indicate 10 rounds fired. That make possible 48 burst! 😉
I feel your pain, but I suggest a little less bookreading (and wrong conclusions) and a bit more discussion with users of NIIP gear. The Irbis is not elegant, its a brute force approach. But what works, works.

I’m speaking out from official NIIP numbers for export model of Irbis. That’s 90 km detection of 0.01m2 target, head on. I don’t want to get into discussion about F-22’s RCS, but it ain’t perfect. So there must be a relative angle from Flanker’s viewpoint where Raptor’s RCS comes to (or above) 0.01m2.
N035 is a powerful and capable radar. It matches/surpasses AESA designs in terms of sheer range.
The offical NIIP RCS is physical impossible, it’s capable detect a 0.1 m^2 target in 90km or some of the other offical NIIP numbers a completly wrong!

Simple fact your PESA has phase shifters and this phase shifters generate insertions loss! A AESA need no phase shifter and have therefor more real power. The TWR power at a PESA is not the effective radiated power (ERP)!!!
A phase shifter have a loss between 2 and 3dB in the ferrit lenses + 0,5 dB in the Radantlenses and pin-diodes make a red hot nose!
Well our known laws of physics prevent us from traveling faster than ‘C’ in real space…

The Russian AESA is not really state-of-the-art! It’s some generation behind of the USA and EU designs!
Who deliver the techic to Russia? I think the USA should reject export licence for the AMD FAB30 and no SOI and copper license than can Russia furthermore only produce in 500nm technic on 3-4 inch wafers! USA and Europe should not export weapons-grade knowhow to Russia!

IBRIS-E is a MPESA and Ibris-E use to kind of phaseshifters, ferrit lenses in X direction and Radant lenses in the Y direction.

When I compare Zhuks AESA T/R module with the UMS module. Than ist the Zhuk module 4 times greater as the UMS Modul! The Captor-E has 1425+ module , the MiG-35 AESA has only 6xx T/R module.
It will take upto 2015 for decent slot array M2K. EU fighter AESA have no chance before 2020.
Oops, that must you say UMS (EADS/Thales), in Ulm run the Preserie Production for the universal T/R Modul (Typhoon, Rafale and Gripen NG). Or how should EADS deliver 40000 T/R AESA universal module for MEADS in 2009?

I did some reading on this recently and became surprised when I discovered that Typhoon can take 6500 kg whereas Gripen NG will be able to take 6000kg. However NG has greater range on internal tanks; so for medium and long range missions Typhoon would need more external fuel than NG and the effective payload of NG will be the same or probably even bigger than with Typhoon. Those twin engines need a lot of fuel…

LM have recently said that they aim to offer an export price middle 2009, contingent on all export partners ordering the number of F-35’s expected. I think they may need to get a waiver from the politicians to supply at a lower price than the USAF will be paying up to 2013. Not quite sure how LM work out an export price for an aircraft that is not yet defined (export LO), debugged and tested.
Not much use to Norway which intends coming to a decision between F-35 and Gripen at the beginning of 2009 IIRC.
LM hav many problems with the F-35.
First the F-135 have a fan/guide vanes blade resonance problem and a broken drive shaft/fan (during the final acceptance run of the BF1 engine) in the low pressure compressor stage caused by resonance. When this a pressure ratio induced or intake choke induced problem is than make this headaches (indication therefor Fan blades broken in the fall 2007, replaced by reinforced. Perhaps the BF-1 engie failure indicate this problem is still not fixed yet). Than this noise problem and this is not only a problem for Australia and Norway (the must relocated an Airbase when they take the F-35).
Than is this a problem for the Netherlands and for Greatbritain too!
Than have the F-35 below of 2% test program completed!
In fact no series F-35A avaible yet as far the first real F-35AF1 had on 21.Aug 2008 rollout! The F-35 AA-1 is an interim solution with a to heavy airframe.
