Just did a quick google and found this http://www.gracesguide.co.uk/Napier.
I work for Napiers now building Large turbo`s for ships and trains.

The tank has a green outer covering the same as the wing tanks.
As said they were used on aircraft for Air sea rescue and maritime Reconnaissance giving endurance of up to twelve hours.
When the newly overhauled Merlins are fitted, whats happening with the removed engines? Overhaul, stored as is or are they spoken for?
A couple of them will probably go for overhaul and the rest will be stripped for spares and put in stock.
When will they fitted, we will all have to wait and see.
I have just being reading the Butterfly appeal on the Vulcan website, and reading about half way down it says
We are looking to sign-up 10,000 new Standing Orders of at least £5.58 per month. With Gift Aid, these will cover two thirds of the ‘gap’ until XH558 is expected to run out of airframe and/or engine life around 2013/14.
So does this mean that the Vulcan only has another 3 to 4 years of fatigue life left on it or is it until the next major servicing.
Does anyone know.
Actually, there is plenty of evidence that Photoshop has been used to create the image. If you look around the BBMF Lancaster you will see the pixels surrounding it do not match the clouds behind it. Equalizing the image in Photoshop makes this even more ovbious. I can enjoy the real photos from the event much better because they are, real.
A faked picture isnt the closest we have, there are photographs from the event that havn’t been photoshopped such as the second one in this thread.
Huw or any photo shop magicians.
Could you show me what you are talking about, as i cannot see how from the photo provided which has been scanned in as it was in a newspaper, how you can see the pixel differences its got me baffled.
Huw, have you actually put this photo into photoshop already.”Equalizing the image in Photoshop makes this even more ovbious.” but if this is a scanned photo out of a newspaper it will not be at its best anyway.
I am also going to ask the photographer for the full High res photo which i should get early next week.
I look forward to your reply.

The lighting, angle, size, height and the different shade of sky around the BBMF Lanc. Photoshop hasn’t made people cynical, its just easier to see flaws in techniques such as this.
As i was in the cockpit of Just Jane at the time the photo was taken i can guarantee the photo is not a fake.
There is no photoshop in site so please enjoy the photo for what it is. REAL.
