-Retire the F-7s they are really obsolete
-Upgrade Kfirs to give them compatibility with better A2G weapons
-Acquire more Mig-27s, if unavailable then retire them and acquire more Kfirs.
-Acquire more K-8s, they are vg aircraft that can do basic & primary training
-Retire IA-58 Pucaras, too few of them
-Retire CJ-6 Prop Trainers, the K-8 can take over their job
-Since there are too many types and only few of the aircraft, retire them like the Chetak, Hs-748, Y-8(or acquire more of these from China)
-Acquire more Transport Helicopters such as Mi-17s
-Acquire some Attack Helicopters, the Mi-8AMTSh is an attack version of the Mi-8/17 and would be very cheap and can deliver a lot of firepower, if they want a more dedicated helicopter they might want to get the 13-15mn Mi-28N or the cheaper and more transport capable Mi-35M.
I think the LCA is the best replacement for the Mig-21, the next available thing is the Mig-29 which is way too big and expensive. The Su-27s could be upgraded to SKM to fire wide array of Russian weapons. I would not go for the South Korean trainers because they are full of American parts though I would go for the Super Tucano to replace all the existing Vietnamese trainers. The LCA is a good option because it’s cheap to buy and maintain, and on top of all it was designed to be light and to replace the Mig-21, it’s a good multirole platform although it has not matured, it could be wired for all kinds of Russian weapons. The LCA can also replace the Su-22 at the same time too.
Actually, Vietnam actually had a good Airforce with many comperable Mig-21s/19s/17s against hordes of US fighters, they were almost even in capabilities, Vietnam also fought on the ground which made things easier and was able to inflict heavy casualties on US, Vietnam also had massive Chinese, North Korean and especially Soviet support, what did Serbia have? None of those. We just got out of a civil war before that, our Airforce was in no condition because we only had some like 10 operational Mig-29s whose radars and weapons systems were not working and were greatly outnumbered, outgunned and etc.
Vietnam fought a ground war, had massive international support and had a sizeable airforce while we had none of those.
Next time don’t talk when you have no clue about that situation.
Ohhh and STOP Posting so many damn threads.
Yes but their newest, the C-17 is total crap, it’s much smaller than An-124, it’s like three times more to buy(not exaggarating) and it’s more expensive to run than the An-124(that’s why they hired the Ukranians to airlift their troops cuz the C-17 is too expensive to run).
If I was Japan, I would invest in the F-35 and buy them with a full ToT, if US refuses it then I would go to Russia for the PAK-FA, and I am sure they would be more than happy to do it if Japs offered them enough money. There is no point in building a 5th gen fighter if it has no export chances of any sort and if it is going to be plagued by foreign parts.
Well yes, I don’t know but French is like American, if you’re going up against their allies then forget it, but they can easily slap an embargo on you.
Although the French are not as bitchy as Americans are when it comes to embargoes and such, but for some reason I have always preffered the M2K over the F-16.
wait so Yakhnot-M will be used as an Land Attack missile instead of a cruise missile and the Onik will be used as the primary anti-shipping missile for platforms like Su-34?
wow are there any mods around this forum to delete stupid **** like this?
I don’t know, if India could get the Naval Tejas in service by 2007-2009 it will be better than Mig-29K. The Tejas is lighter, cheaper(to buy and especially maintain), it’s domestic for India, and probably superior to Mig-29K in many ways.
Wait I think it was said somewhere that it was developed from the Yakhnot-M, is it better than it really?
Well it does make sense obvously to use the Il-76. It would really offer great commonality with other Il-76/Il-78 frames India has, and like they said the Il-76 has better range and more space than a 707.
Anyways, what I want to know why is the Indian Phalcon on Il-76 nly 366mn and the SK’s Phalcon on G555 over 400mn, isn’t it the same radar? if not whats the difference then.
Well so far all the sources pinpoint for J-10 and LCA being less than 30mn.
Wasn’t it was something like 3 systems fore 1.1bn for India which brings it at something like 366mn/each aircraft. The G550 is slated at 425mn.
I don’t know but whats the difference between the Indian Phalcon and this Phalcon offered to SK?
Wow, thats something like 425mn per each aircraft. Funny that Greece paid almost 4 times of that for each of their EMB-145Hs. Though the EMB-145 Erieye is not as capable as the Phalcon, it’s almost 4 times cheaper.
I am not really sure.
How much does the Wedgetail cost?
I know the obvious that Gripen is already fully developed and it’s been out for much longer than the J-10 or LCA but the point is that it’s not as cost effective as them. Although LCA has some Israeli and Russian parts I believe, neither of these countries is politically demanding like Europeans or the Americans are. J-10 will probably be fully indigneous although it’s heavier than Gripen and the LCA it will probably come at a similar cost as the LCA.
I don’t know, I’d wire the J-10 or the LCA with a good Russian radars and many different weapons and there you have a very cheap fighter with no political strings attached.
