They should’ve seriously named Rafale as something else like Mirage-_________ to keep the tradition going instead of ending it at Mirage-4000

They could’ve named Rafale something like Mirage-5000 or something 😛 or Mirage F.2

    Mirage F.1

I think they should set up their trainers right now, don’t they have Tucanos?

I think we should forget anything non-Western. If US is going to dominate Iraq and it’s politics and military then forget anything non-Western. I think it would be safe to assume all those MiGs will go to scrap yard and they could leave the Mirage F.1s since the infrastructure to support them is already there but I am not even sure about that. US might stick a few used F-16s to Iraq.

Besides I don’t think this Iraqi AF will work very well.

F-35 will be only cheap in US’s eyes. I think that would be safe to assume that will be the price, around 100m. I mean all those countries buying them with support, maintenance and other crap will cost alot, I mean F-15K with all those things costed 100m/plane, what makes you think a plane like JSF wont which is a generation ahead and planes keep getting more expensive and expensive by generation. It seems to keep doubling/tripling all the time.

F-35 won’t be afforded by many countries. With Typhoon and Rafale costing anywhere around 100m, I wonder where others will turn, perhaps Sweden for the Gripen or Russia and China for their 5th generation planes.

Woah, I don’t think that high, impossible.

Anyways if thats what it comes with all the spares, maintenance and training and all the other goodies, this would make F-16s and M2Ks about the same cost and twice as more expensive than a Mig-29SMT/M1/M2 which costs about 30mn with all that, at least thats what Algeria will pay for them.

Yahh it looks like that 1.5bn deal is for Algeria, and it looks like Mig-ATs will also be part of it. I wonder for who the Ka-52s are for? Perhaps Algeria or Yemen?

    -A330MRTT for tankage
    -SAAB340 or EMB-145 as AWACS
-PAH-1/BO 105 for light utility, transport, light cargo and mainly anti tank and for other opertaions
-NH90 for ASW, cargo, utility and support for Army
-Rafale+LCA(integrated with French weaps) as hi-lo mix
    OR
    Gripen alone.
    -T/A/F-50 Golden Eagle+KTX-2 for Training.

Well the Mirage-2000BR offered to Brazil is kind of like the -9, it costs some 70mn, Gripen meanwhile offered for about 50mn.

Ohh not just 70mn but it looks like it will be even more, ohh and wait don’t forget that you also pay for US technicians to maintain them and you would also pay for AIM-120 and other weapons to be in US all the time if you’re not really close with them.

F-35 is a great bird no question about it, but just all the political demands that come with them.

No one knows about this company in US rather than the whole world which makes you think who’s seriously going to fund it.

    How about a 38mn An-124?
    How about a 35mn Su-35?
    How about a 12-18mn FC-1?
