But they do not get in Concorde Room.
It is Concorde that is a small aircraft:

Concorde was designed for midgets, preferably midgets without any hand-luggage. There were surprisingly few complaints about the poor headroom and tiny seats because the overpaid employees whose tickets were being paid for by their companies didn’t want to lose face in front of the economy class tourists who had twice the room on a 747 for a tenth of the price.
A318 is huge:

even bigger than 747 cabin:

That’s funny because I’m 6 foot tall and I had no complaints. Plus I was not an entertainer or a high paid business man I bought my own ticket from my savings. Yes the seats were narrow but the legroom was fine and nobody complained because the service on board was superb so, as far as I am concerned, your remarks about midgets and rich people are a load of nonsense. By the way, did you ever fly on Concorde or was that beneath your dignity
Why don’t you choose to fly First Class where you are much less likely to be bothered by babies, toddlers and other undesirables?
My wife and I once flew business class with Emirates from Perth, Australia to Dubai and had a youngster who cried and screamed all through the flight so we were not kindly disposed towards the child. Does not matter what class you fly, you cannot escape.
nJayM, please tell me you’re kidding or next will you be telling us that “Red Clydeside” has held back GLA
I was supposed to fly to Newark this morning
To add fuel to the fire…
Quote from today’s Daily Telegraph “A disabled woman has successfully sued Ryanair after her husband had to carry her on to a plane using a fireman’s lift when the flight crew refused to help. Jo Heath,57, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and uses a wheelchaie, was left on a runway at Luton Airport for half an hour after the special lift she had booked failed to arrive. The Ryanair crew refused to help her on to the plane after claiming it was unsafe for them to carry disabled passengers because they might “damage their backs”. Mrs Heath was left “humiliated” by the incident and sued Ryanair for £1,750 after Northampton county court ruled the budget airline has breached contract and broken disability discrimination laws”
So can we expect a new £2 levy to cover legal fees and fines?
Why was it approaching GLA from your dining room window? 😮
Did it do much damage? 😉
I knew there was a reason I don’t contribute very often:)
Just by chance, saw it approaching GLA from my dining room window. Looks nice!
As far as I am aware, Delta have never flown from Glasgow
Did the release mention a cost if you were to bring on your own smokeless ciggies? I have seen them being sold in the US so I imagine they could be available in the UK. I don’t smoke and never fly Ryanair, I’m just curious.
You’re going to have to forgive me as I have not flown with British Airways for over 10 years, but when you are booking a ticket on line it seems a bit off if you cannot reserve you seat(s) there and then which I assume is the case. I can do this with Continental months in advance of my flights without any charge whatsoever.
Hi Irvine. I use Continental 3 times a year mainly because they have a year round service from Glasgow. I find them OK to fly with, the seating is average and the meals are generally fine. Your flight should have seatback inflight entertainment available. As for seating, that’s an individual preference as my wife and I tend to take aisle seats across from one another to facilitate our exit. The front of the economy cabin tends to be reserved for their frequent flyers. I also find Newark Liberty a good airport to fly into as their immigration desks are fairly well organised. Have a good trip and enjoy the “Big Apple”
One thing that strikes me in this story – again – is how useless the cabin crews are in a lot of these situations.
They should calm the passengers, not leave them in the dark and have them near panic.
I said again, because I remember that A340 crash landing in Paris (?) where the cabin crews wanted people to stay in the plane when it was already smoking outside and the wing burning. And also recently after the ditiching in the Hudson, when one of the trolley dollies opened the rear submerged door and let the water in.
According to the crew interviews given to the US media outlets, it was NOT the stewardess who opened the rear door. She was ushering the passengers forward when one passenger barged past and opened the rear door at which point the damage was done. Said stewardess was in danger of drowning as she was the last one from the rear of the aircraft and, as of last month, she was unable to put on her uniform for the interviews and felt that she would be unable to return to duty
EK 777’s are great I must say!
Have to agree. In two weeks time the good lady and I are off to Australia from GLA using the Emirates 777-300ER and, as it’s a “celebration” holiday , we are pushing the boat out and flying business class. Can’t wait
Gosh those shots bring back memories! I remember back in 1982 flying a short hop in a Western 727 from San Francisco to Las Vegas. My wife and I were the only two white people on the flight. All the others were, shall we say, Oriental gents off for a spot of gambling.
As I travel to the States 3 times a year I have joined Continental’s frequent flyer club. The fact that they had such a club was not instrumental in flying with them. Their awards programme was fairly good when I started a few years ago but now they have cut back on points given for certain fare classes and reduced the points given for booking on line from 1,000 to 500.
You also have to be careful and check your statements. They charged me $800 for upgrades for my wife and I which we did not get. I trust that this is being resolved as I write.
