Grey Area – do you actually DO anything except take pictures????
Andy
The flip side of this argument could be that an airline that spends all its money on making an airplane look cosmeticly nice might not be spending its money on the things that matter most. I’d far rather fly on a safe but scruffy looking airplane, than I would fly on one that looked pristine but which hadn’t had the requisite behind-the-scenese maintenance done on it.
FWIW, I’d fly on that airplane.

😮

That’s where it came from and Pam’s sorting me out with a replacement. 😀
Ah, you know the ever-helpful Pam… That’s good! I went to visit them a week ago whilst I was in San Francisco – don’t ever go in person, the experience can be VERY expensive!!! 😮

BOAC Boeing 707-300 G-ATWV, by Gemini Jets. The BOAC nose graphic is only applied on one side, anyone know if this is accurate ?
Nope, you have a duffer there… Check out Brinkley’s pics and you’ll see it should have BOAC on both sides.
Customs man paid off and I get my Northwest Orient planes.
FWIW, if you’re ordering from the US, have you ever tried JetCollector? I get all of my Aeroclassics and BigBirds from them, and they’re normally “imaginative” with the customs declaration meaning I rarely pay any import duty – of course, I’m not encouraging anything illegal, but… If you look them up sometime, tell them Andy from the UK recommended them!

I’m proud to finally announce the arrival of a model representing a plane I flew in for real (got a feeling I’ve flown G-DOCT?) It’s EI-DAA an Airbus A330-200 by Herpa models.
So, Ren’s got some Herpes now 😮 (I presume that’s the plural of Herpa :p )
Andy
Ref post #3 – they would regret their nonchalance if there was a real emergency!
Ref post #3, if you’ve been on the damned airplane dozens of times and could actually do the demo on behalf of the crew…
Andy
No doubt Dan Air would still be operating those 727s and Bac1-11s
Nah, they’d be waiting for their Comets to be redelivered after being re-engined with BR.715s on the same conversion line as the Nimrod MRA.4 :p
Andy
A few weeks ago I was on a UA flight SFO-LHR in the first row of biz class… One of the first things UA say in the safety demo is “There is a card in the pocket in front of you that explains these procedures. Please take it out and study it carefully…” I actually did this, and the old-granny who was doing the demo said “Hey, you’re the first person I’ve ever seen actually take that thing out when we ask them too…” Got some laughs from the other passengers, none of whom looked at the cards. Of course, by that stage, I was too committed and had to listen attentatively to the rest rather than go back to the paper!

It gets worse: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/633033/L/
Hey, that’s a nice picture you found on airliners.net!!! :p
Andy 😀
Oh, just remembered, the Honduran airline
SAHSA – Stay At Home, Stay Alive
QANTAS – Quick And Nasty, Typical Australian Service
PAN AM – Planes Are Not Always Maintained
SABENA – Such A Bad Experience, Never Again
Paul, nicely done!!!
Andy
Oh and by the way – I hate you! :p :diablo: [JOKE!]
Nah, she doesn’t want to go to the Caribbean… I had suggested the new Las Vegas service (it’d be a lot warmer in LV) but it seems like we’re set on Washington.
Anyway, with over 1600 total views of this report and the report on the ountbound flight (combined total from the same reports posted here and airliners.net’s trip reports section), I think BMI should give me another free flight as a thanks for all the good PR I’ve generated for them! [yeah right, fat chance!]
