Crew falling out of aeroplanes… Happened on an occasional but regular basis when I worked in a certain UK airline, including one I remember quite well when a fairly senior captain fell out of the open front catering door of a DC-9… Usually results in broken bones and some time off work.

lets just hope a new livery will be on the cards
I’m sure it will be… It’ll be basic Airtours livery, with a great big yellow sun on the side, and Air Scandic up the tail.
As far as Scandic taking 10-30s is concerned, I believe that they’ve picked up some Caribbean runs this winter and 10-10s and A300Bs are a bit short legged for that.

Proof that PIA did indeed visit MAN on Saturday, plus other proof that the sun came out in the afternoon!!!
That is a great spot isn’t it, only just found how to get there! 😉
Flex, I still don’t know how to get there – I get lost every time. However, after several wrong turns I usually end up in the right place!
Next attempt possibly August 14th – hopefully with some better morning weather!!!

Ah, now you’ve changed you sig my comment looks strange… Enjoy the trip in just over two weeks then!!!

Shouldn’t you have been in Palma on Monday, according to your sig??? Sure does look dull for Palma!!!

JetStar do not allocate seats. Not sure about Virgin Blue.
Here in Europe, a few low-fare airlines do allocate seats at check-in – BMIBaby for example.

Interesting pics… What were the Dead Sparrows doing in Brown Ale country???

We preface the visibility with RVR (Runway visibility range) in the states and give the distances in feet.
Ah, but we have RVRs as well, and these appear in the METARs when the vis is below a certain level (1000 meters, I think – can’t be precise because I don’t tend to fly the PA-28 in vis that low!), and where there’s measuring equipment of course. The figures you see in these METARS are general horizontal visibilities in the vicinity of the aerodrome, a bit like your “10 statute miles” type figures.

Not seeing a single PIA must be a record!!
Again, not quite sure where you were looking, but I saw four PIA’s at MAN on Saturday (and have photos of them too) – two 777s, -BGJ and -BGL, and two 747-300s, -BGG and another in the old colours.

Machester on Saturday??? 😮
You’ve gotta be kidding…! The weather was miserable in the morning!!! 😡
Don’t believe me???
9999, 3000W and 5000 are the reported visibilities in meters (it never goes above 9999 which is 10 kilometers or more), and the W means the minimum vis of 3000 is to the west of the airport.

I’d like to give it a go, but I find them much too choosy. They seem to reject photographs for stupid reasons, that’s why I prefer JetPhotos.net.
Ahem!!! 😡
Andy (airliners.net photo screener) 🙂
PS: we probably would reject your picture, but not for “stupid” reasons – 1. there are reflections from the window in the right hand side of the image (which could be corrected with a little careful use of photoshop or even more careful shielding of the front of the lens when you shot the picture), and – 2. noses are OK, but noses with the nose chopped off (if you understand what I mean) usually are not. What airliners.net demands is attention to detail, moreso than do the wannabe sites like JetPhotos and Planepictures. Once a photographer gets that message about real attention to the small details, if their basic image quality is OK (which your image has), they usually enjoy pretty high success rates on airliners.net
I always used to think that they should have had one with “Go Away” on the side of it!!!

Two terraces at SIN, both indoors… Still, provides respite from the humidity!
