Camera is a Canon D60… Similar in spec to the current 10D / 300D, although when I bought the D60 two years ago I paid a lot more than you’d pay for a 300D now! Main lens is a Canon 100-400L-IS – seriously expensive piece of glass, but I’ve had it four years and it was worth every penny in hindsight.

Flight to Palma was £65 return on MyTravelLite from BHX, stayed at the Helios (approx £50 a night split with a friend) for two nights. Only extra expenses were a hire car for two days (cheap), food (cheap) and beer (not so cheap!) so a weekend in the sun need not cost the earth – if you’re after photos Friday and Saturday are the only really worthwhile days, or maybe Sunday too if you really want to push the boat out.

Serious, I’ve been around a bit… Happy to help with advice/guidance on ANY of the places I’ve been.

    Best,

    Andy

I guess that’ll be the end of using A.net shots to illustrate our discussions ? 😮

    Nah, I don’t think so… 😉

I will be there late Aug this year, first visit. Is san Fran any good the city that is?

San Fran is an absolutely excellent city – make sure you have plenty of time there. If you’ve been to the US before, you’ll know quite a few US cities are just business centers. But San Fran has a real heart and a vibe about it… You’ll enjoy it!

    WOW! 😮
Amazing shots, I think airliners.net would have trouble rejecting those!

Well, seeing as I’m a photo screener at airliners.net… 😉

Ha ha, very nice pics you take too Andy. 😀

Thanks… Photo-ing was always my number one thing from the days of having a Praktica MTL-3 – still, even that took some nice Kodachromes that are probably worth a bob or two today! Now its mostly digital, and things like collecting GeminiJets and Aeroclassics 1:400 scale models has got in the way too, as well as flying the local club’s PA-28s from time to time!!!

PS: I was SERIOUSLY annoyed Derek didn’t include East Midlands in the AI article seeing as unsurprisingly I have taken a few pictures at that airport!

PS: Last two pics taken from room 6002 at the San Francisco Airport Marriott hotel… If you’re ever in the area, that’s a room to have (albeit at a price!).

Last lot… Promise… The Air Jockland is the new Greece Airways machine, and the Air Europa has been kicking around a while but advertises the musical based on the history of one of my favourite groups!

You what??? You need to get out around the outside a bit more. Check a.net for recent pics from LTN if you don’t believe me.

My experience these last few weeks with UA LHR-SFO-LHR more than once is that they usually go full or very close to… They upgrade their own top level frequent flyers first. Again, from experience, there are usually more people looking for an upgrade than actually get one – the J class cabin has gone full on each flight I’ve been on.

    Sneak Peak

Don’t know whether any of you have seen this… Sneak peak at a forthcoming Gemini Jets 1:400 scale release. Please note that its an early sample that needs work. First release will be Polet Cargo:

Anyone interested in a British Airways 747-400 “Hong Kong” in 1/400 by Gemini Jets? I’ve got one I don’t really need…

Woooooo…. Do you know what that’s worth??? If its in the Hong Kong box its worth even more!
