Well, the only problem of course. Is the that would still leave India with only one carrier…………..

One will do fine if we can get the second IAC out before the Chinese ones.

When one can’t build anything from scratch and call it its own, it’s quite natural that you hit the reality check from time to time.

Watch out IAC in 2014 🙂

the worst enemy of an arab is another arab.

but to be fair, there are many self hating jews too

    something about that region.

That’s my point, it didn’t mean anything last time they tried it. There is too much infighting between various sects of Islam for this to ever work on any serious level.

The smart thing to do will be not to aggrievate them so much that they will forsake petty differences and unite against a common enemy. It will take some persuation but it is certainly possible.

What, like the United Arab Republic? That certainly worked well.

It needn’t last that long but such a situation would be very bad for Israel. I am saying there is a strong possibility of that happening the Arabs have been divided and united throughout their history, we should not look at how things are now and jump to conclusions. 😉

But Indian Navy is not going for any STOVL fighter onboard its carriers while they are still using STOVL Harriers. Example Mig-29K and N-LCA…

Because Harriers are Obsolete and the only avialbale STOVL fighter is not yet out. And by the time F 35 is ready for a potential IN over it will be nearing 2020. Navy had little choice but to go for conventional jets.

    Nonsense!

The political conditions of the 12th century are not relevant to the 21st. Times have changed immensely. You are ignoring the many claimants to being the “one leader” who have emerged & been violently resisted by those he would seek to lead, from Nasser to Saddam Hussein. By what route do you imagine such a leader can emerge? And what, BTW, has “playing Arab against Persian” got to do with it? There are enough divisions between Arabs for that to be pretty irrelevant. The Persians are currently using them to play off one Arab against another. And don’t ignore the Turks.

You my friend is very very short sighted. The Arab Sunni/Shia divide and the Persian/Turkish divide may look very large now but history is so full of lessons where people who share some common values teaming up against common enemies. There is a unifying factor, Islam, if you get a leader or some one who can unify them under the flag and make people believe that its a global war against Islam as a whole. Things would get very nasty.

Oh and in 12th century they were united after centuries of being divided, so it is very very possible even now 🙂

    Knocked down equipment?!

When the Indian Air Force bought the Jag, it was an evolved version of the RAF version and a vastly superior beast in comparison to the French Adla “Cats”. It´s main competitors were evolved versions of the Mirage F1 and the Swedish Viggen, both of them were at the cuting edge of military aviation in the mid seventies when the competition took place.
The same can be said of the Sea Harrier and Mirage 2000 buy´s. Or the Sea Eagle, the MAGIC´s, Super 530, ATLIS, etc, etc, etc.

History shows that with the sole exception of nuclear devices, India has been offered, again, and again, and again, the very finest of what Western Europe had in their armed forces.

    I agree 🙂

India is a low risk partner with excellent commitment to IP rights. As long as we are that way we will be offered the best tech. 🙂

Yeah, because the Arab nations had such stellar records against Israel in the past Jordan won’t do anything. Egypt most likely won’t do anything. You’re left with Syria, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. Whicn really means it’d be Iran, or Saudi and Syria. Saudi and Iran don’t get along and even over this issue it is highly unlikely that they’d cooperate. Israel v. Iran or Israel v. Syria/Saudi is in Israel’s favor either way.

If you know the history of middle east, you will see that they just need one leader to united the nations under one flag against Israel. Just like Saladin did during the crusades against the crusader kingdoms. There are limits to which the current playing Arab against Persian diplomacy it will fail one day and Israel must be ready by then.
