Keeping in mind that it has an electronic zoom, unlike something like the Fuji S6500fd, it’s massive zoom must be a bonus. I’ve read good things about it too – and, on a nice day, I can see it giving the Fujis a run for their money. It should be competitively priced, too.
😡 Would have made my day to have been there. If only I’d known! 🙁
Doesn’t detract one jot from your smashing photos, though.
Probably. They’re all just grey blobs to me, totally uninteresting to look at.
Did I say West Cornwall? I meant South West Devon/East Cornwall. 😮
she won’t be available as on saturday I wouldn’t have thought, unless the guys can be persuaded to come in again. Sorry saturday is your best bet
Bit confusing, this post, mate.
Bump.
Anyone else interested in coming along?
Incidentally, the answer to the riddle is: –
I was learning Chinese – I like doing my audio lessons in the car somewhere – – peaceful!
That would sure take your mind off whatever you were doing in the layby!:D
😉

That’ll do.
Yes, Err, I mean No, I meant 4th April.
I’d just been made aware of my stupidity, and have already changed the other thread.
Just to say that the photo taken is in now way a spoiler, the aircraft is on display to anyone prepared to visit the Bournemouth Aircraft Museum.
I’ll be there on the 4th April, as I have to pick up a lady friend returning in the wee small hours of the 5th.
Plan to arrive about 1pm, if anyone fancies a forum meet-up.
Do they do good burgers there?
PS/ Looking for a nights cheap accommodation there. If anyone runs a B&B in the area, please PM me asap. Those I’ve seen are a bit pricy, closed or full already.
Tonadoes…vintage?? Bah!
:diablo: Showing your age, but I fully understand the sentiment. It was only last week they finally named the MRCA as the Tornado, isn’t it?
Loud, ha – these boys haven’t lived. A Lightning in reheat going vertical – now that’s loud. A Phantom in a powered climbing turn on fully reheat, now that’s loud. A 4 ship Vulcan launch – now that’s loud. Tornado, that can’t even make a baby cry! Setting off car alarms from two miles away, that’s loud.
Seems the Valient is a decidedly unlucky aircraft – both real and model. 🙁
They usually have “on the field” parking (it’s a big place) – be sure to join the correct queue on the way out, otherwise you can spend hours in the narrow back lanes trying to get back to Redruth for the A30.
And it’s the only show I’ve been to with a grandstand, which is very welcome – I think it’ll be a fairly modest price for a seat, payable on the day.
Blue Badge holder (disabled) cars get very good access too.
Ahh, good, I was worried Culdrose wasn’t going to be “on” this year, because they were very late announcing it, and their usual website doesn’t work (or didn’t – havin’t tried yet).
– ahh, it’s working now http://www.airday.co.uk
I think, in common parlance, it is safe to assume that a Jet Engine is a Gas Turbine for all intents and purposes. And when someone refers to a jet engine, they are generally referring to a gas turbine. A turbo prop is simply another variation of a gas turbine engine. Ergo, a turbo prop is a jet engine.
Well, I’ve seen lots of these with only one tailwheel. 😉
Maybe you found one that fell off??
