Dodger – Terry Pratchett
Excellent as always.
Is that a new one? Is it after “Snuff”?
Te mighty AZ!
You forgot to mention the SE.5.
Oh I understand about that!:diablo:
I wouldnt really call a 65k ton carrier a Super Carrier.
Even more so since its in STOVL config 😛
Fair is fair……the first of the modern “super carriers” are generaly agreed to be the Forrestals, and they started out at 58000 (or so) tons light……..so, from a size perspective , they could be called “super carriers”. Not nearly as capable as the USN’s “super carriers”, but that term is unofficial and kinda meaningless.
Listed speed is 30 knts………a bit ambitious on 20000 shp?
Looks more like a frigate or corvette sized ship, but hey….semantics.
Why would this be considered news?! How flippin hard could it possibly be to integrate the R73?!
More fears about a “death-spiral”. http://news.yahoo.com/insight-expensive-f-35-fighter-risk-budget-death-201135601.html
An article from the Virginian-Pilot……..main newspaper for Hampton Roads area. 1st Fighter Wing is in its “area” so to speak. http://hamptonroads.com/2013/03/sequester-spares-broken-program
Well……….the USAF operated QF-106As until 1998, these could be and were operated in a manned config at times. Also NASA was operating a couple in the 90s also. There is a civilian test pilot school that operates out of Mojave that has 3 or 4 Drakens, but Im not sure when they got them.
