Just a thought, in a world where Britain had CVA01 & 02 would the Tornado exist? It was 42% industrial contribution to the UKVG concept; if Britain had the political ‘minerals’ to build the CVA 01 & 02 then she would most probably have the ‘minerals’ to build the TSR2 or a much greater share of UKVG.
Or if the TSR2 was still axed, would the RAF have actually gotten F-111K?
If you read the link, you’d know 😉
Short version, single crack found in a low-pressure blade so they grounded the fleet as a precaution (it is in SDD after all). Blisk was pulled and sent back to P&W for review. News expected next week.
Just a cracked blade then? Not too hard to fix. Kinda makes killing the alternate engine seem…………premature.
Ike came in for two months and now is gone for another four or five, Truman was all set to go out for seven months but the deployment was cancelled two days befor departure, sequestration budget. Roosevelt was set to begin mid life refueling but that on hold, and Enterprise is out of commision. On the up side the Ford is under construction about 10 miles from those guys.
Again?! What now?
Thats Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia. The shot is looking south up the Elizibeth River. This was a couple days ago, Ike pulled out of here yesterday.
What will the upcoming “sequestration” do to the price of the F-35?
Ah…..did not know that. Thanks.
Werent all the GR-9s bought by the Marines?
Would CVA-01 thru 03 have been “Tom Catized”? :p
🙂
A neat video of Mig-29KUB. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKm1OEcncek
:eek:Will probably be Chinese J31.:D:p
Iv read that the air group on CVA-01 would have consisted of 18 Phantoms, 18 Bucs, and 4 Gannets…………seems they could either go to two 18 plane squadrons or perhaps threee 12 plane ones for, say, 12 Phantoms and 24 Bucs………..just a thought.
If CVA-1,2, and 3 had actually been built, what would the FAA have looked like?
