true. Good point. However:
A further 4 aircraft may also be repossessed in the near future if United cannot renegotiate the terms of these aircraft aswell
This quote suggests that United aren’t keeping up as it seems to pointing the finger a lot at United.
Not necessarily. UA may be paying it’s planes right now. Problem for UA is that the lease will expire. Then a new lease will have to be set up. This will likely be more expensive since planes are in more demand then when the lease was set up.
You would think that it would be easy to source replacements from aircraft stored in the desert, and there must be still quite a few, I would think.
I do not think that many leasing companies will want to lease to UA. Not at favourable rates anyway. The risk for the lessors that UA does not pay for one reason or another is rather large. Remember, they are STILL loosing money fast. They are STILL in chapter 11 (with no hope to leave anytime soon) and their cash reserves are STILL appaling.
Leasing companies will prefer leasing to more stable airlines that make money and/or are backed by rich people. For instance Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Vietnam Airways, BA, AF, KL.
Come to think of it. Since they are in C11 I am not even convinced they are ALLOWED something like that. Paying of their current creditors (long list!) goes ahead of making new creditors!
Bad bad coincidence I’d say.
A refueler not doing his job properly. Hardly Onurs fault
It happened while the plane was (about to be) pushed back. Refueling had finished already. So from my own, uneducated, guess I would not think the refueller was wrong here.
aah, OK. I see what you mean. I thought you had covered something up with paint shop or something.
Nice photos! There does seem to be a rather large dustspot in the 2nd photo? Anything interesting behind it?
Not a Transall then?
Nope, the plane pictured has the stabilizer on top of the tail. The C160 has the stabilizer on the rear fuselage just under the tail.
Twin prop, high wing: would have to be an ATR 42 or a D328. Add to that the straight wing edges and that makes it an ATR-42, since the D328 wings end like the 773ER with raked wingtips.
1) Kalitta B747-200
2) US Airways A330-200
3) Easyjet B737-700
4) Martinair B767-300 <- probably flight MP0815 AMS-YYC PH-MCI
5) definately 707, a radar dish can just be seen over the left wing just behing engine 2. Either NATO or RAF.
My flights:
A320: BMI, VBird
A321: BMI
B733: Easyjet
B738: Ryanair
B738 winglet: Air Berlin
B146: Buzz
DC3: Dutch Dakota Association
DH89: some group based at Duxford (G-AKIF)
Also, did they finally get the A330 into service?
They have been flying into, amongst others, AMS for well over a year now. Mostly ‘300s, but also some ‘200s.
Me too, there’s too many adverts!
I find that Adware does a great job blocking them.

Thanks for the LCY anwers Peter and Comet. I’ll just have to take a risk with Liverpool 😀
No visit to Liverpool would be complete without taking mayor risks to your life. 😉
Nice photos! However, the horizon seems to be unlevel on the first pic! :diablo:
The 7 provincien class? Might have to replace some bits and pieces from outside Europe but other than that a great vessel with good looks too!
I like the herc best!
I live no more than 30km away from their main base and still have not got a single one of them on photo, except for a few lousy shots from the static displays at various airshows.
2) Is viewing any good on the South Side of London City? I’ve got an hour to waste before i need to go to Euston, so is there any car parks or road to the south of 10/28 😉
Speaking as a former (and wannabe) cockney I can say that yes there are reasonable viewing fascilitities.
If the wind comes from the east you see the planes on final approach and/or lining up for take-off. Between 70mm and 200mm should be enough for all but the smallest biz jets. Just exit the terminal and walk towards the right. After a 10 or 15 minutes stroll you will be at the biz jet apron. There is a crash gate that can be used to poke your lense through.
If the wind comes from the west viewing fascilities are less favourable as you will be further away from the planes. When leaving the terminal go to the left into the parking lot, can’t be more than a 3 minutes walk. In fact the bus stops right there. From here you can see the runway. Planes will be landing right in front of you. For take-offs the planes will first taxi past over the runway and then turn around and take off.
Is that the Reebok stadium? Bolton? There’s lots of vapour trails and that NW England area generally seems to get a lot of overflying aircraft?
I’d have to agree. http://www.webbaviation.co.uk/stadiums/reebok.htm
As for the planetype, second guess is an Embraer.
