i mean maastricht. Should have used MST in my previous post.
I am also not convinced you could have seen 7 KLM flights at once all at LHR. Unless of course there where a lot of delays, but even then 7 seems a bit rich. Now 7 KLM flights during a full day is something I could believe.
On a normal day KLM has 9 flights from AMS, 3 flights from EIN, 2 flights from MAA and 3 flights from RTM. In total there are 17 KLM (cityhopper) flights per day on a normal weekday. In the weekend I believe there are fewer flights.
Oh, no the police would go crazy and the fine would be expensive.
Attached you find a more detailed map
There’s a free parking spot much closer by to the spot you mentioned. It’s in the forest. When taking exit 23 (Zepelingheim/USAF Base/Cargo South/Berlin airlift memorial) of the A5 you should drive to the left. Take the first exit on your left into the forest. There at the end of the road you can park. Walk towards the left in the direction of the motorway. Cross the motorway by the pedestrian bridge and you’re there.
Nice photos! ALso, congrats on beating Britannia!
According to Dutch radio news (Yorin FM) the KLM plane had a brake failure. The brake got stuck and now the plane will not move. No fire at all. No wounded, just a lot of pissed of people. Those people will be rebooked on the next KLM flight.
No word on the CX flight, but that’s to be expected since it is not really relevant for NL.
3) Airbus A330 that had a dark blue and white tail. The body was completely white, engines were dark blue and the colours on the tail were together in a curved shape and had a yellow-orange symbol on its tail.
4) the same airline but an A319.
Don’t think it is Egyptair as they don’t have A319s. They do have A320/321s though. A more likely candidate I think is Air Cyprus.
1) Airbus A310 that had a red stripe above its grey bottom and the tail had a white cross on a red background…I thought it was Swiss then I remembered that the dont operate A310s.
2) the same airline what ever it is but its an A330.
Only thing I can think of is Balair. But they have had a different livery for a long time. Not even sure if they still exist! http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=420817
Another possibility is perhaps Air Algerie? Admittedly a long shot.
Also, CDG is very close to Le Bourget so a biz type can not be ruled out either. Perhaps the Spanish air forces A310? However, it has a while tail with red cross so probably not. Don’t think they ahve A330s either.
And everyone was getting really excited for it….
not me!
Wow! Those program execs sure are original. It must have taken at least 12 seconds to think of that program! And there I was thinking original TV formats where a thing of the past.
My bet is that 2 years from now Yorin will buy the program and rename it Luchthaven Luton. Ooh jolly, good time ahead.
Looking very good!
How are the spotting fascilities there? By the looks of it they are really good. Definately an airport to consider for next year.
Capturing them both was a small problem. But I got them with a different lens.
Where you on the grandstand (tribune) or next to it at the crashgate.
Just wondering did you guys have a secret service or CIA detail watching you?
Ben
Big mystery. The great advantage of secret service is… that they are secret! And while most names of US agencies are misnomers (Investigation in FBI, Intelligence in CIA etc) these guys are really good!
Having said that. I have seen vehicles drive around that I am 100% certain are not with the police or KMar (military police). Also, near AF1 a few SUV’s could be seen that are not normally seen in the Netherlands. So if you want to count that as secret service/CIA then yes, we saw them. Did not see any personnel though other than right under and next to AF1. But that was on the other side of the airport.
What we did see was loads of police, military and KMar. Including riot police, armed police, armoured police (YPR armoured vehicles).
Best of the day where two officers on scooters Had a lot of fun with them. Saying “Meep meep” (remember, from roadrunner) when they went past. Asking how they would bring us to jail. How they would chase cars etc.
could you post a summary as the paper requires a username
It’s not just Ryanair, any airline where the flight is only one a day and you try and start from the airport which doesn’t have the based aircraft is going to end up in this situation. For example, AMS-EDI-AMS:
But at least easyjet offers several days to pick from so that makes sense. Ryanair did not.
