Apparantly SU had beent trying to change their 777s for Austrians older A340s. That deal is now definately debunked since the 777s are going to Vietnam. But where there’s smoke there’s fire so perhaps SU is still interested in Austrians A340s?
New 777s seem unlikely. They can’t fill them year round so it is too large. SU already has a fleet of 767s so perhaps they can add a few? And as Humberside said Il96s are also possible.

I would have actually liked it, had they removed the pics in which people died. This is just a tad tasteless.
Shame they could not do it during the weekend!
The wind is different at different altitudes. So on the ground the wind may be completely different. Knowing that makes the landing safer and more comfortable.

1. Does a bus go there direct from the terminal?
Buslin 191, 193 and 198 go closest, but you will still need to walk 10 to 15 minutes to get to the action. It’s worth it though!
2. What happens if the weather decides to be crappy…is there any shelter around or anything.
No shelter, no toilets and food and beverages can only be had during the weekend. So before you go here you might want to check the weather forecast, and if you come during the week you might want to bring something to eat/drink with you.
Again, as long as the weather is dry(-ish) this spot will be worth it!

Even bigger? The 773 looks disproportional as it is!
Well, as long as it is efficient it will be build. Looks are of course of secondary concern. I am a bit worried though about the likelyhood of tailscrapes. The few 773s I have seen rotating came very close to the runway already.

I think this is the one T5 and A330 Crazy are booking or have booked ?

Sorry to bump this back up, but I have arranged for a few days of (13 to 19 june) and am sorting out my travel arrangements.
I am wondering whether T5 and A330_Crazy realise that this hotel is at the wrong side of Paris? It is near Orly (South Paris) whereas Le Bourget and CDG are in the north of Paris. You’d have to take many trains or a journey over “La Peripherie” to get to the airports.
For what its worth, I will NOT be staying in this hotel no matter what. I am staying up north. Somewhere, not decided where.

Sorry, I am not from AMS so can not give advice on which hotels to (not) take.
