problem is, 190 is probably gonna get screwed by Bombardier C-110 and C-130 that was just approved by its board.

I’d first like to see Bombardier make that plane or even give the final go-ahead. What they have now is merely a paper plane to see if airlines are interested. If airlines are, Bombardier will go ahead.

Assuming everything at Bombardier goes ahead, I think you can expect the first C-110/130 five years from now. The Embraer 190 is available now. So Embraer has at least a five year headstart.

For the Netherlands I would advice these places to take the kids out:

Burgers zoo in Arnhem: Alright, it may be a zoo but this is a zoo with a difference. Next to the regular zoo and safari park (no cars, just walk over an enclosed walkway overlooking the wildlife) are 2 large domes. Each dome houses a miniature ecosystem. One has a rainforest, the one a dessert and in between them is a huge aquarium. Definately worth your while.

De Efteling in Kaatsheuvel (around 30km west from Den Bosch): an amusement park that does not just cater to adrenalin junkies. Small kids will like this place as well. In particular the fairy tale park will be very nice for Whippersnapper and snappete.

Perhaps a sidetour to the Aviodrome in Lelystad?

As for the Apenheul, kids either love it or hate it. And having a chimp **** over you while at the same time another chimp eats your icecream is not fun. It will make your kids future shrink a wealthy man. 😉 Yes, experience talking here!

Amsterdam is a beautiful city, but spoiled by tourists. If you want to see pretty cities go for Maastricht, Den Bosch or Utrecht. If you do visit Utrecht, you should stay away from Hoog Catharijne shopping center, it’s like bluewater except it is build in the middle of city center. The area around HC is very nice though.

Its a sneaky attempt at redirecting speed gun lasers and giving false readings.

If you ever go to Cyprus, you’ll see everyone driving round with them dangling foprm the rear view mirror….if fitted at all !.
Dont know if it works, but hey !

That’s the reason they do it, but it has been proven not to work!

Do truck and bus drivers wave to each other in your countries?

Drivers normally only wave (or flash their widebeams) to drivers from the same company. With the number of trucks in the Netherlands it is not sane to wave at every driver. Every driver would have RSI in under a week!

Very nice selection! Especially the 727s and the KLM A310.

1, 2 and 4 I knew. Number three I was in doubt between a 707 and a VC-10, but since you are a boeing man I figured odds where the 707 would be it!
