Elmo, a member of this forum, sent me this photo he “rescued from a national UK newspaper who were having a clear out”. It is resized and “neatimaged”. I am showing this photo with his permission.

Will there be a final opportunity at seeing this plane somewhere in Europe? I never seen the MATS connie and would like to see it, but going to the US or Korea is well outside my budget.

I do hope it was a myth, I thought all aircraft with bang seats HAVE to have the safty pins put in them to avoid such incidents…

Read two similar stories about the RNLAF. Both at the website http://www.kluchtmacht.nl. This is a forum where everyone can post their funny and not so funny stories of the RNLAF. Only in Dutch though.

The first story is about an F104 mechanic. He accidentally ejected while inside a hangar. This ss supposed to have happened at Leeuwarden AB, though no date has been given. Apparantly the beams supporting the roof still have the dent in them to act as a example.

At Volkel AB the kid of a airforce employee managed to get in the cockpit of an F16. He too accidentally ejected and was killed in the process. Several posters actually confirmed this story.

The black police cars are the ones used in the city of Brussels, to chase the really bad guys!

You mean members of European Parlement and NATO spokespersons?

freeservers does not delete your pages when you have not updated it for a long time. However, they do delete the lot when you have not had a hit fot 60 days! This is done automatically. Alos, FS does not make backups so unless you have made one, you can start all over again! 🙁

Check out this forum from FS, there questions can be asked.

Developing a plane will be more expensive and time consuming for the reasons you mentioned. This will be offset though by the increased production numbers.

They probably regret Fokker persuading them to buy them (effectively one off’s) then going bust.

The RNLAF never really wanted them to begin with. This was just a “Boeing-style” subsidy. It gave Fokker some money, something to do and a new type all in one. So as far as the economics ministry was concerned it was a succesful operation (pity the patient died).

Two of the F60s will be sold. The other two will be converted to perform maritime patrol duties in the carribean. They will replace the Orion drugs hunters stationed there.

    1) German police. White with green.
    2) Belgian police. Wite with some very tiny blue lines. Note the white police car (BMW?) on the left which has the old livery.
    3) Dutch police. White with large blue and orange lines. The most common type in the Netherlands are the VW Golf, the Opel Vectra and the VW Transporter minivan but really any type can be ordered by the individual police regions. It is planned that in the future the cars will be standardized on Mitshubitsi’s (sp?) and volvo’s and I believe also the VW transporter. On the motorways the police uses Volvo’s of different types.

    Pros:
    * You can use it to buy online flights (that’s the one and only reason I got one).
    * Acceptable everywhere, whereas your debit card may not be acceptable abroad.

    Cons:
    * The interest rates could kill you if you don’t pay back your debts.
    * Most credit cards charge a yearly fee weather you use it or not.

I got one and rarely use it. Only to book online flights. Since the savings I make offset the annual fee I am quite happy with it. Fortunately I am rather cheap, after all, I am Dutch! Therefore I know when to stop spending before I get in debt!

    Navy (MLD):
321 sqn was based at Biak flying 10 Neptunes. 326 personnel

    Air Force
    22 Hunter (12 x 322sqn)
    4 C-47 Dakota’s (at least one from 336sqn)
    2 Allouette-2s (both 322sqn)
    total of 9523 personnel

One of the C47s crashed, the X-11. That plane was from 336sqn so I am assuming all 4 C47s where from 336sqn.

    Dutch only:

I heard that they were using ex-KLM 747s.

    Indeed.
    HS-VAA = PH-BUO … 21848/397 … B747-206B(SUD)
    HS-VAV = PH-BUM … 21659/369 … B747-206B(SUD)

And then there was PH-BUU. This plane was painted in full Phuket livery, but in the end Phuket did not take up this plane after all. It is currently parked in Goodyear, Arizona. The reason Phuket did not take ‘BUU is because the owner (not KLM but ILFC) had worse terms then KLM. KLM did own ‘BUM and BUO.

I believe their intention to fly to AMS has already been made official. They have even had some slots awarded, so it seems certain Phuket will fly to AMS.
