If you do not mind me asking, why do you want to move away from Excel? Except for uploading the photos it does everything you need. Microsoft Access does the same, againt without uploading photos, but can better handle large volumes of data.
What you can also do is use Adobe Lightroom. It’s a photo editing and databasing program. You can assign keywords to each photo. Thus you can assign B737, KLM, AMS etc etc. I do not use the program myself but I’ve been told it is possible to upload the data from Excel as well.
That looks very smart indeed! Is that being returned to Hendon after being on long term loan?
No, it will go to the new national military museum at Soesterberg. This new museum replaces the old military aviation museum at Soesterberg and the old army museum in Delft. The new museum is expected to open december 11th.
At night cargo planes take over. Other then that, it’s largely EZ and FR.
If accurate, it shows that Russia may be trying to be a good neighbor and trying to distance themselves from this. Is this some good news or will they revert to the old Soviet style of blocking or hindering the investigation.
I’ve been thinking on that, but the black boxes are pretty irrelevant. Perhaps the pilots mention on the CVR that they see a missile incoming. Perhaps the FDR data can explain where specifically the plane was hit. But that still does not answer the critical question of who did it.
For that you need missile debris containing serial numbers. And if that debris has not already vanished or been tampered with we need opennes from the Russian and Ukrainian military (or the missile’s manufacturer) to establish who owned the missile. Was it from Russian stock, or have the rebels stolen it from Ukrainian inventory.
I am not expecting such opennes from Russia as it would prove their involvement in the conflict, which they are still officially denying. Neither am i expecting such openness from the Ukraine as they want to prove to the world that Russia has started a proxy war. The missile manufacturer won’t do so either cause they are a Russian company.
The Russian rebel leader gloated on twitter they shot down a plane believing it was a Ukrainian air force Antonov 26. His tweet has been deleted but someone made a screenshot.

I am willing to bet that the black boxes have disappeared and won’t be found. Considering the height the Malaysian plane was flying at, 33k foot, it must have been shot down by some serious piece of military hardware. A small MANPAD won’t reach high enough. The black market won’t provide that stuff, so Russia probably has some explaining to do.
I would not mind if our government sent a few marines there to drag Strelkov’s **** to the international tribunal in The Hague.
BTW, be cautious looking for images of the crash. There are plenty of them, and they are not shy showing bodies. On Russian tv they are even showing Dutch and Malay passports, opening the photo page of several of them.
Nice story, but it’s a sad reflection on the airline industry when a case of decent customer service makes worldwide news.
Skyward received this Fokker only two months ago. It left Maastricht on its delivery flight 01/05/14. The previous operator was Denim Air as PH-KXX.
According to below site “The 369FF is basically a 369F with an up-graded drive system.”
According to telegraaf.nl the Netherlands has sold the supply vessel Zr. Ms. Amsterdam A836 to Peru. No further details are available.

As I understand it, with a family name the lower case d is correct
Maybe the rule is different in English, but in Dutch when you only use the family name you start with upper case, but if the family name follows the first name you use lower case. For instance when you say “Peter ten Thije is great” you have to use lower case, but when you say “Ten Thije is great” you use upper case. Since De Havilland is a company name, and thus never preceded by a first name, you should use upper case on “De”.
While on the subject of the name De Havilland. The english word “The” in Dutch is translated as “De”. That’s why there is a “The Havilland” building at Eindhoven airport instead of a “De Havilland” building. Someone must have assumed that “De” had to be translated into English “The”!

Nice selection, particularly the 747-8. Did you also get the one of the ArkeFly 737s with the new split scimitar winglets?
I like that last one. Made my firs flight in one of those! Same colours as well (G-AKIF).
