The Typhoon is indeed missing a functioning radiator. I wonder if there is some confusion here with the RAF Museum’s Tempest V?

I don’t think so, the Tempest is the wrong colour. I spent a fair amount of time glaze busting 24 cylinders with fine emery and paraffin (small hands in those days) among other jobs.

I also rubbed her down between coats (climbing over and caressing every inch of her).

As for the missing rad, there were a few doubtful types about then some of whom are no longer with us today, most unfortunately.

Things can go missing.:D

I read a book some years ago that mentions DH 100s built in Italy. I know about The Pilatus DH112 examples, there’s load of them about (possibly inside a mountain somewhere) How many De Havilland examples of each still survive? My ears are sometimes alerted to the sound of a Ghost or Goblin although seldom.

I heard a Cessna push pull last Sunday and got to window to see it streaking across the sky.
