Glad she’s flown, especially considering the effort that was put in getting her there!

Will, I heard the engines and dashed outside so I only caught the final turn. So she goes left, right, up, down and forwards – result!

Since when has Brazil been in Europe DHLdr? 🙂 Fittipaldi, Gugelmin and Boesel were all South Americans and didn’t do particularly well in F1 either – Fabi is/was a solid, dependable team driver and Johannson lost his edge after some quite nasty experiences (hitting a deer at 190mph at Hockenheim + some big crashes in CART).

An F1 Champ seems to be able to go over the pond and do well, but then Jaques Villeneuve came to F1 and did ok.

MotoGP is where it’s at – F1 has lost all that made it great.

I think F1 lost it’s way when entrants were forced to build their own chassis – the good old days when (given that one had the cash) you could buy an engine and a chassis, hire a driver and go F1 racing were the best. It also kept costs down and filled the grids.

The FIA dropped the ball this weekend, and the breakaway championship is even more probable now.

For what it’s worth, I hope that this debacle see’s the end of the one tyre set rule. No-one has yet satisfactorily explained why there was no chicane installed to allow the entire field to race – ok, tough luck on Bridgestone but the damage to the sport would have been lower.

Maybe there’s a hidden agenda on the part of HMG here…

It looks like the Nimrod is being equipped for bombing. Maybe Bliar has decided that the good old tin triangle would be more effective and is going to buy back 558, 655 etc and stick some 21st century avionics and weapons systems on them 🙂

Might not be such a stupid idea actually – the B52 is still going after all! So how many of the surviving airframes would be recoverable then?

Who’s going to run for government so that we can put this cunning plan into action 😀

No, we all keep looking at the menu thingy on sky digital and thinking “A Spitfire’s Story? AGAIN!” There’s tons of good stuff on tape/film/disk or whatever the preferred media is for repeated rebroadcast, so a little bit of imagination would result in a bit of variation in the programming… Go on Discovery – put a little effort in, you know it’s worth it.

Oh and Digby – you obviously haven’t been “blessed” with Sky 🙂 The “loads of other channels” consist of 97% total pooh (I know, I know, but it wouldn’t let me type ****), and the other 3% is repeats. I’m with Janie – spend the £42 a month on something you REALLY want 😀 I’m very close to cancelling it and putting the money towards flying lessons…

Have they repeated Flying Heavy Metal yet? That really could do with a repeat – BD is the direct antithesis of John Nichol!
