If you are willing to heat it then it’s easier. Just take it easy and don’t try to take too much of the bend away in one hit. Consider annealling the steel (heat to cherry red and allow to cool naturally) to prevent work hardening.

Depends on the diameter. Packing with sand is the best method if it’s larger, but you need to pack it in hard and seal both ends (probably best to seal one end first before you add the sand).

Get it roughly straight with vee blocks and fly-press or hydraulic press – the sand will prevent kinking or flattening. Bend it slightly past straight and allow it to spring back. Repeat lots.

If it’s quite a big diameter, then heat will be required, but with a press and blocks you can probably do up to 25 – 30 mm dia easily.

How straight do you want it?

They look very much like pneaumatic or hydraulic quick release fittings to me – the sort of thing you’d find on a JCB. Is compressed air used in a milking shed?

Lot’s of updates to this over the 14 months (eek!) since my last post.

The Brisfit has been joined by a Halberstadt, DH4, SPAD 7 and RE8, and there are Brandenburg and Felixstowe flying boats coming soon along with a channel map to hunt down shipping with them. There are weapons uprades and personalisation packages to buy too.

Still a sweet sim, still a ****** to master and the basic version is free to download. I’ve not played the the career mode but apparently that’s ok as well – I prefer the multiplayer online madness!

If you haven’t looked at it lately it’s worth a revisit.

Blowing the dust off this thread, apparently CloD is much improved on the latest Beta or so my Oceanic Wing mates have been saying. I’ll update this post with the download details.

Rumour is that their new Battle for(over?) Moscow project will improve the core engine further and this will benefit CloD. Unfortunatly I’ve been addicted to DayZ of late and not been flying online as much as I should.

    Good luck Phil!

Well it looks like I will be (re)joining the student pilot club again soon, as HM (Gawd bless’er) has seen fit to to return me to the UK in October.

All I have to do is find my log book after a 5 year gap…

Might be the only excuse to get an iPad! I’m still struggling to get my MFD’s onto the second screen – the ultimate is to get the Thrustmaster MFD’s and 2 8 inch monitors but my technical abilities are getting even more stretched figuring that out!

I did a quick mission the other day to show someone what it was like and popped 2 109’s without using Track IR – very tasty 🙂

I’m still putting Rise of Flight higher (especially as it’s FREE) and my combat abilities have improved drastically since getting into it.

Ha, Moggy 🙂 Been there done that, blown the engine..

I love the way it tells me what part of the engine has gone west because of my inepetitude, normally before I’ve left the ground.

It’s not perfect and has some way to go, but it’s playable and when multiplayer is sorted properly I think it’ll really rock.

Alex, It’s difficult to comment without profanity.

You sir, are a craftsman and artist – I would love to have a fraction of your talent!

Keep up the good work, awesome.

It’s still taking up too much of my spare time. Mutliplayer rocks. AND they’ve just announced the Bristol Fighter will be available in 2 weeks.

    I fly as Ghost18.

    The crash was my fault.
