I just watched this very short movie
I don’t have a clue about what the people say , but I like what I saw.

Not really a film in the true sense of the word, but a nice one-off, isn’t it?

I think you are talking here about the L1649 Starliners which were bought from Mr. Maurice Roundy?

I just watched ‘Les Chevaliers du Ciel’, or ‘Sky Fighters’ in non-French speaking countries. A lot of really great flying and dog-fight footage, mainly with Mirage 2000’s.

The story is about the theft of four Mirages by North African terrorists and mercenaries which will be used for an attack on an European summit, held in Paris. Of course the attack is countered in the end by the two heroes of the Armee de l’Air.

A well spent Sunday afternoon. If you can lay your hands on it, don’t hesitate.

Shame on them. One of the few good air shows within driving distance from my home.

I was indeed recalling what an insane jungle gym of 4130 tubing it was inside.

A picture of the naked airframe.

Apologies to the photographer, but I forgot where I downloaded it from.

Stupid of me, not to empty the IPTC fields. You can get access to those with a picture viewing programme, I like Irfanview the most.

The A/C is indeed the Dean Wilson Explorer II C/N 002 which crashed in British Columbia, N376LC. Only very few pictures on the net of it. It is also classified as the largest homebuilt aircraft ever. Apart from the furniture it had a full film development unit on board, including a dark room.

The pic was taken at the Museé de l’hydraviation de Biscarrosse located at Biscarosse, France. It is housed in some old houses once built for engineers who were working at the Latécoère factory. And very near the old French seaplane base of Hourtiquets. But this is on military grounds and it is not possible to get access.

My remark towards A.net was meant ironically. The screeners there are more in the habit of judging how perfect a photo is to their standards than to have a good look at what the photo depicts. On the other hand, there are nearly one and a half million pictures in the database (of which 29 are mine), so they have also a task to keep the site manageable. I will edit a picture as good as possible, and try to upload it only once. If they reject it once, I don’t bother to get it accepted a second time.

I’ve offered it to A.net, but something was wrong with a pixel. They rejected it.
