nah libya donated some mig-23s to sudan
this pic is amazing!, wish there was more….seems to be a mig-23MS…but cant see any other markings on the aircraft 🙁
Before or after tax? 😀
Your low res graphics card can render it easier on Falcon 4…
LOL nice!!!!!
we need a topshot of the camo! 😀
Any idea if Ethiopian F-5s were also bought? Photos and any information most welcome
hiya
just 5 f-86s were aquired by Avspecs: 269,275,277,278, 284
MiGMan, do you have any info on this event?

Ooops!, sorry MiGman, ive just noticed ive reposted two images that you have:o
Apologies!
lol no worries 😀 never enough afghan air force pics!
oh, lil bonus:
some of you will remember the camo’d Ethiopian F-86 seen on tom coopers site
had, been trying to find out if the camo it carried was sand or grey, like in the profile drawing for a model of mine…
..hilariously, it seems a south African purchased this airframe, followed by a fellow kiwi: with this airframe ending up a mere 300km from me! LOL
funny how aircraft can travel 😀

*but wait theirs more Ethiopian sabres! from the Avspecs website
..restored into schitty USAF ones! 😡
hiya

lol…there floggers..100% guranteed by profile 🙂
your one looks like it has a full bucket of flares? where as this one seems narrower!
thanks for the info, its facinating! 😀
i coudent find any ethiopian mig-21s with the flare mods you made, but i remembered Ugandan migs had a similar mod, same thing? they look a bit smaller, though were also done by IAI

But what is the line of reference for application of the Ethiopian markings??? (he asks in vain) judging by the second photo, the aircraft would have to be sitting almost on its tail to have a vertical/horizontal reference line for the roundel. Please – any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.
my train of investigation has been following:
*Ethiopian Mig-23Ml’s have underside starboard roundel, but no port – though i have no topside pic
though this roundel layout would mirror other ML customers such as Iraq: who have national insignia only on the upper port/lower starboard wing in the same position as on the ethiopian machines.
as for the 23Bns, i have:
a pic of one with a roundel on upper port wing
a hires pic from the side clearly showing no presence of a roundel on upper starboard wing
2 pics with lower starboard wing roundel
but no clear lower port wing pic 🙁
hiya
do u have any information on the flare system or pictures? these seem to be a must to add to my ethiopian mig-23 model!!! 😀
i posted a couple low quality ethiopian mig-23bn photos in the small airforces thread
PS – are you able to pist images form the ethiopian air force calander? 😀 😀 😀
ethiopian mig-23bn stills! now we know the roundel is port wing only finally!
….anyone id the bomb?
That is my design.
I have designed & installed the prototype on an Indian Mig-23BN, and later done prototype & serial installation on Ethiopean Mig-23BN + Mig-21 Bis.
I had pictures of the Ethiopean ’23 from their Air Force callendar, but never seen the Indian installation, which is now on their Mig-27s.
Now if anyone could find me pictures of Ethiopean Mig-21 with this installation, that would be nice
ausome info! is it true the avionics and cockpit of the MiG-23BN were bought up to MiG-21-2000 standard? would love to know the extent of the updates carried out to the ethiopian machines! 😀
BTW can u tell me of the ethiopian roundel is on both upper wings or just on the left upper wing? – been dying to find this out for a scale model! 😀 would love to see any pics you have!
lol nadew, i never knowticed the flare buckets in that picture, so i guess there on both sides!
when i get home ill check to see if i have a modified mig-21 pic!
